Yea Griots interior cleaner. That stuff has served me well for years. I love it because it has absolutely no odor.
Wow! And what did I do to my Mondial today? I finally drove it home, out of storage. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I took mine back to Maranello today. It's been 36 years since she was last there (presumably). We travelled about 85 miles from home near Bagni di Lucca, over the Alpi Apuane Mountains. She behaved impeccably. Maranello is not far from home but over the mountain pass at Abetone then back via the Porrettana pass took about 2.5 hours in each direction! We managed to squeeze in lunch at Ristorante Il Cavallino outside the factory gates then a quick tour of the museum. Nice trip and car...Mauro do you still have the original paint sticker and if so can you share a picture of it. I think my car did have the same color...once. Guido
Damn! I don’t think anyone will beat you on what we did today. That must have been a perfect experiance. I spent the day putting a new interior in my Fiat Spider 2000. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Hi Guido. I don't have the original paint sticker. My car was yellow when I bought it but its now back to the original colour which is Azzuro Metallica FER 502/C. Regards Mauro
What did I do? Too Dam Much!! What started out as "what's the noise on the belt side when it's cold, to this! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's cool. Looks like it needed it. That CV boot and those bushings have definitely seen better days.
Starting to get my car back together after removing the gear shift assembly. I’d like to say thanks to Paul who sent me his old gear shift housing! What an awesome gesture. Turns out my gear shift housing was all gnarled up and the screw holes had become oblong. AND THE RATTLE IS GONE! Yesterday I flocked my cassette holder.....sooooo much better and it came out great. Then I was going to have an interior shop cover my glove box, next to the shifter, in leather. She said it was not possible because of the sharp corners so she cut out some Ferrari leather to put in the bottom. I had to do it because when I screwed it back in I forgot to hook the cable under it and the screws went too far in and left dimples in the bottom of the glove box. (Dumbass). I may just end up flocking that as well since the cassette holder came out so good. The leather looks better in person than in the photos. Then I bought a radio that would look more period correct and I removed the “continental” wording and glued some Ferrari water stickers in place. It looks factory! Why not? Who the hell would know what a factory correct/OEM Mondial radio would look like anyways, other than a concourse judge? As far as I know no such thing exists anyways, as I believe all Mondial radios were dealer installed and/or aftermarket(?). Temple
Yea well my current radio looks like something you’d see in a pimped up slammed Honda, shiny with purple and red and blue lights.
By JLF - "Yesterday I flocked my cassette holder.....sooooo much better and it came out great." Flocking? Yes! I had forgotten all about that method, haven't done any flocking since woodshop in high school. (A loooong time ago, lol.) Great post with a simple retro solution. As for my Mondial - I put the top up for summer driving season here in FLA, top down in the winter only, summer sun and heat will fry you with top down! Alden
Great job on the project so far! The flocking looks really cool and I love the Continental radio. They're popular with the air-cooled 911 crowd as well for those looking for a radio with a more period-correct look to them. Not everyone wants a radio in their car that lights up like a sign on Times Square. 2cam
