So my wife and I have created a monster! As they say, “ The Apple Doesn’t Fall Far From The Tree”. Our oldest son, Evan is completely infatuated with watches, has been for a long time. He can spout off model numbers of Patek Phillip, Rolex and others without challenge. He is constantly sending me links to various watches for sale and likes to discuss the specifics of when a watch became available, it’s movement, materials, etc..... When he graduated from University last year, and after saving for a really long time, he treated himself to an Omega Speedy. It was a big deal for him. Long story short, it ended up needing service two times in a very short period of time so he decided to sell it and move on. He is laser focused on getting the Sub which was what he wanted all along. The point of this post is to see if anyone has the ability and desire to help him out. He is “on the list” at a dozen or so AD’s but feels there is no hope of actually getting a call. If anyone has a connection and wants to help me to be “Father of the Year”, please PM me. He is a really good kid and I’d like to find a way to help him get his dream watch. Wow, thats an error for sure. I’m the one that wants the Daytona. Thank you so much! Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
No problem. Everyone wants a Daytona. I bought a Speedy last week and hope it doesn't give me issues (it's a custom build technically but is a new base watch). Sub and Daytonas are both excellent watches and will probably be my next watch. Please let me know if you have any luck getting a spot at retail. I'd like to do the same at some point.
Evans Speedy had a problem with push pins coming loose and falling off. He is super careful too. Happened twice. Really nice watch though. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I got mine walking into a store last year. On the opposite side I saw one sell for $12k this week Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Ron. I’ve got a good long term relationship with an AD. I emailed the owner to see if he can help you out. I’ll PM you if he can assist.
Ron, try and call the Ben Bridge store at Ala Moana Center, or their Timeworks store at Ala Moana Center. There are always Asian tourist buying Rolexes from them and they do have a good supply of Subs. PM me if you need the name of a salesperson.
Will do! I really appreciate this guys! I’ll keep everyone posted. Go FerrariChat! Awesome! Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Struck out. Called them and they couldn’t help. Thanks though. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Are subs now hard to get? Bought 2 for my kids 6 months ago and even got a discount... wasn’t that hard at the time...
Are you looking for a sub mariner? Or the new ceramic Daytona? If you’re looking for the new ceramic submariner I have a friend who is a authorized dealer can find one in a short time. If you’re looking for the new ceramic Daytona that is a completely different story. Just let me know specifically what you’re looking for.
I could help but in Italy, not that easy my friend. However 116610 is not a hot reference and I'm sure one of the dealer will call you before the summer
Evan is looking for a sub with the date. He has been looking for over a year. He has called dozens of AD’s and asked to be put on their lists. He visits the AD’s in Boston each weekend without success. They are really hard to get. Some people who get them, flip them for a decent profit. That are all but impossible to get. I am picking-up my wife's DJ from service tomorrow at our local AD and will check for you, no promises. Just out of curiosity, does it have to be new from AD, plenty of pre owned just as good as new?
Ron - no go from my AD, actually said they have a 2 year wait on the Sub. I didn't stay long enough when he started to explain why, wasn't really interested in listening to the canned pitch. Good Luck.
Thanks for checking. And he wants new from an AD with his name on the warrantee card. Thanks again! Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
No. Based on personal experiance, Amazon trades counterfeit materials. He wants to purchase from an AD. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Sorry for the bad advice, Ron. I stopped by the 2 Ben Bridges at Ala Moana this week, and saw no Subs. I also found out my friend left the company a couple months ago.
I remember this thread... I'm really not into getting a watch but I stopped by 2 local AD and was schooled that there were no st st subs to be had, one salesman demeanor was actually insulting as though I was just a flipper. I did like the white gold sub but the price is beyond my budget
So Evan got the call yesterday. Longs, a local AD called and told him that they were putting one in the case. First come, first served. Evan got the watch. A dream come true. I appreciate everyone’s advice and support. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
