It is a model of a fantasy car, from the minds of two Franklin Mint designers in the 1990s. The one you have there is the 2nd edition release, produced in 2008. The first release painted two-tone Lilac & Purple metallic was unlimited (thousands made), and produced in 1998. Not very rare since so many of both versions were produced, and a limited market for this since it is not a model of a real car.

That is a great looking sign. It is not old, it is a repro type of piece. Many variations have been made over the past 25 - 20 years or so. Nonetheless, it is still a great looking piece.

Again, thank you for your answer. The person I bought it off said it was 40 years old but I had my doubts. But I agree, I think it looks great and didn't cost much.

I don't know if it makes any difference to your evaluation of the wooden sign but when I took off the "car" part today to rectify a slight warp I realized it is was made of plaster! It is about 15 inches by 5 high and I just presumed it was wooden like the rest of the sign. Would this be normal in a repo sign? Thanks again. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Are you sure the car part is plaster? It might be resin. Certainly that part could be plaster, but resin is what I've seen most often. Either way I still stand by my evaluation. There are tell tale things that these makers of New-Old style signs do to make them appear very old.

Yes, could be resin. I was just expecting it to be wood. Thanks again for your quick response.

Again not a Ferrari but picked up this gem at a liquidation shop recently. The Porsche was completely black and to be honest I bought it for the stand. Was going to chuck the Porsche and put a Ferrari in its place ! Turns out its 180 grams of solid sterling silver and rare enough. Spent some time polishing it and voila..
