    Greetings,

I am posting this want ad on behalf of friend who owns/operates a busy independent exotic auto repair shop here in California. He is searching for two high quality brand new, twin post car repair lifts for his business. He would like to purchase a European manufactured, or USA made lifts. Please PM if you have, or know of a representative who sells high quality auto repair lifts. Thanks in advance.

    Sincerely,

    Tim

While "Certified" may sound good on paper, in many cases (and not just lifts or other shop equipment/tools), it doesn't necessarily equate quality.
Perhaps more often than not, (at least in U.S.) it appears to mean "the item concept/design" passed (or was paid to pass) some arbitrary "tests" by (self-regulated ?) industry alliance organization.
This is probably why some European manufactures often can't or won't their products available in the U.S., even if their overall design or quality is clearly & vastly superior.

Like almost anything else automotive related, most (especially individuals or smaller shops) tend to buy shop equipment, incl. lift, etc brands with strongest marketing campaign presence, often coupled with some "celebrity", "fancy ride" or "T & A" and cheapest prices. Design & engineering qualities or technical specifications are probably among the least considered aspects.

I tend to approach things differently and before I bought mine (20+ years ago), I personally researched/studied D & E + tech specs of all available brands/models and eventually settled on Rotary due to their clearly superior engineering designs.
Since then, two clients with larger, private car collections and familiarity to my approach have insisted on buying/having "exactly" same lifts in their places because "They must be good since you have them !".

With all due respect, but OP is requesting rec's on two-post lifts, while "BYB"s are four-post and I wouldn't refer them as "high Q products".
