1st Ferrari purchase, life long dream. Looking at 1 owner 2013 458 Spider Rosso Corsa/Nero, 4500 miles, list $219,900. Build sheet attached. Thoughts on build? Issues, missing items? Thoughts on price and expectations on margin to play with at authorized dealer? Market to get 2year warranty thrown in? I realize lots of owners have view that if worried about $$ shouldn’t buy Ferrari. I watch my pennies and now have opportunity to buy my dream car, does not mean I throw it all out the window. Thank you for comment, all welcome!!!!

Very nice spec. The rear camera and full electric / heated seats are great. Same for the the electric folding mirrors and home link.

A lot of times dealers will include a warranty if you ask. I don't know what market prices are for spiders. 2013 is one of the best years for the 458 in my opinion. Mine was a 2013 and it was absolutely bullet proof.

Could be my post in a year, just different color. Sounds perfect with the lifter. I hear mixed responses on this item but people that have it swear by it. Price seems ok given mileage. I personally never buy warranties since statistically they arent likely to work in your favor.

    Congrats. Im jealous!

wow seems like a loaded spec. price seems a tad high but i shopped for a coupe so i'm sure spider prices are always a bit higher. i wasn't successful in getting a warranty thrown in. I'm six months into ownership and its been rock solid.

Looks nice except the black interior. I think you'll always pay more buying from a dealer though.

Nicely appointed 458. Nice color combo with low mileage. The nicest stock wheels. Interior appointment with lots of Carbon fiber and Alcantara. Cameras are nice as parking can be difficult with these cars. That's one option I wish I had on my 15. Provided a good PPI, I would see about them throwing in a new Interstate Battery as I'm sure you know they like to eat batteries. Good luck!

wholesale is around 190 to 195 so my guess is you can buy it for closer to 210. if its the your ideal spec i wldnt let it get away. if you can get 2 yr warranty throw in and pay 215K i say you did well. sounds like a great car. live your dream.

Thanks. I am debating warranty, seems very little history of issues with low miles 458s having problems that are covered by the POWER warranty. I assume its high margin item for Dealer (like 50%), so it may be best bargaining chip for peace of mind, versus pure 5% price redux ... will see. Only thing I don’t love are red stripes on Daytona seats, think I would prefer pure black racing seats, but that is minor issue, other than that, nails my specs.

Looks like a great spec that probably cost $350k new with low mileage to boot. You should get a lot of enjoyment from the car. The full electric seats in Daytona are definitely better than racing seats.

Are Daytona (assuming powered) seats "generally" more desirable on these cars as compared to the Racing Seats? I have electric daytona on my F430 and like them a lot. Toying with an upgrade to 458 in next year, and a local dealer told me that racing seats and 20" rims were must haves on this car (probably b/c the one he had on the floor had both options...! ha). Would just like to know for the future purchase. thanks gents

The racing seats are def the most desirable seats (at least here in Sweden) as some buyers searching for a 458 specifically requests with those seats otherwise no deal. This is something that boggles my head as I think the Daytona seats are more beautiful and I think almost as expensive as the racing seats and you get a lot of adjustment possibilities and heating which you don't get with the racing seats. With the racing seats you just can adjust back and forth, the rest of the adjustments (hight and tilt level) you have to let your tech do for you which is annoying as f'´¨'+

The statement of 20 inch rims I don't understand as all 458s come with 20 inch rims, smaller I don't think fits and there are no smaller available from Ferrari. There are different 20 inch rims though and the standard ones are not very desirable on the second hand market due to (maybe) the design and the extra weight compared to the lighter forged rims.

Here are one pic on the standard rim (first pic) and a another on the lighter more common rim on the 458.

Great...thanks for the feedback....much appreciated. Sounds like I was correct, that unless a heavy track car, this auto place was BS'ing me, as his car has the racing seats. And, its Rosso Dino in color, which to me, no offense, is not a flattering color on this car.

As an aside, i LOVE my F430 Spider, but its only 4 months "new" to me...I plan to enjoy it for a year or two, but then can def tell that a '13-15 458 Spider is in my near future.

I have racing seats in mine and love them strictly because I'm a bigger person . The standard seats and Daytonas used to pinch my butt where my wallet used to LOL!!! I don't mind the mechanical adjustment and no heat . It's kind of funny because some resale places swear by them because the seat fits people better if you are larger.

I had the standard seats and they fit fine with my build 5'10" 170 lbs.

Originally I was also looking for a car with racing seats, because they are so good looking. But decided to go for normal seats because I just don't fit in the racing seats. I am 5'11" 230 pounds.

Don't track mine. The Racing seat was a definite must for purchase as was the carbon that accompanied. Not saying there were not some adjustment noyances initially, but once corrected by the dealer I'm happy. Absolutely in my opinion the best seat option. There is nothing wrong with a Daytona. The stock wheel for me was a automatic don't even show me the car unless changed to the Diamond.

There are different sizes of the racing seat to accommodate various frames.

Yeah Gary I get it . The racing seats were more or less a must for me and I must have gotten lucky because these fit me pretty well . I’m 6’3 240 and don’t plan on tracking this car also. I’m an older guy so I grew up mechanically adjustable seats as opposed to power.

I thought i heard that ferrari seats come in different sizes (medium, large) in addition to the structure (racing vs standard) and the pattern (daytona) making a litany of possible combinations. Is that correct? Im 6'3" 220 and have problems with racing/carbon seats pinching along my back. With the size thing, i also heard that nearly all cars in the USA are large (no surprise).
