Thank goodness this isn’t a product of Mercedes Design https://jalopnik.com/this-mercedes-benz-icon-e-concept-is-the-modern-w114-yo-1834395627?utm_medium=sharefromsite&utm_source=jalopnik_facebook&utm_campaign=bottom
I love retro and I love the old W114 but this doesnt really work. Personally Id like to see one based on the W124 but modernize with flush details and LEDs. Otherwise its a perfect design to me. Something like the Singers I guess
His BMW CS is pretty cool Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
So is his Fiat 127... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The front looks rather fragile compared to the back. Though the front does cater to that BMW heritage look!
I like it because it's not so much "retro" as it is... what's the word that best describes it... "continuation." As if they'd just kept modernizing the same design language (a bit like the Challenger, except the Challenger is more of a 5/4ths replica of the original).
The 911 is the poster child for a continuation of a design language. Hard to argue with that. Challenger= 5/4ths indeed!
Bill the Challenger comparison sums it up nicely! The same familiar look but different all at the same time.
and when you have a design catalogue that goes for 8 Chapters you can mix and max to make old new again but still 'comfortable'.
All of it except the front end. Maybe the grill opening protrudes too much for the headlights? Seems kind of awkward to me. Anyway, I'd go with this over the 500.
I posted this earlier in Vintage. Now you know why I don't like angry insect cars. It was always a challenge as to which set of keys I'd reach for. But generally , the Maranello won. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here's one I never understood. I always thought it looked like someone had accidentally welded the back of the car on crooked. Image Unavailable, Please Login
