For what it’s worth, I couldn’t see the maroon in the swatch. Cherry red for days. In the pic above, you can tell the bottom is Maranello because of how smooth it is. Very unique.
John, this is very helpful. I wonder if others agree on the daylight / shadows thoughts. I did see a 488 in the London showroom and it was wow. But as the car will be in Southern California it will see a lot of direct sunlight.
These are two pics I have posted before. Zero alteration on them but taken with a good camera since it is very hard to photograph well. Still only about 90% of the effect you get in real life. My stripe is blue NART with the standard Speciale Bianco and an AN alteration around the edge. Edit: real photographs are much brighter and vibrant - fchat seems to dull my pics Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think the best way to get an impression of how both colors look is to search the first one in Google Pictures and see what impression will all 20 (or whatever) pics will give you and then make the same with the other color. I made that when I was searching for the difference between Fuoco and Fiorano and exactly that way I understood, that the Fiorano is actually much darker. Just the whole impression, that all the pics together will give you about the shade of the color is probably the best way to have an impression about what is the actual shade of the color, because single pics of these colors never do them justice.
In case this is helpful, here's another shot of my Rosso Maranello 458 done by a professional photographer. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, I saw the Rosso Coburn car in the Maranello area where built cars are placed awaiting shipment. It looked amazing, very similar to RM, basically a very similar colour with a slight adjustment (can’t quite remember what it was but I remember a post from the owner talking about what he did). They are not too easy to tell apart but I think Coburn is very slightly ‘redder’.
Another view of Rosso Coburn. In this view it is 'redder' and from what I have noticed the red really pops in the sunshine. The color seems to have an amazing depth of shine... Image Unavailable, Please Login

I love that it really looks classy, Aluminium calipers and wheels , and 5 spoke. No red or yellow calipers , classy
How does Rosso Coburn match up with Rosso Ferrari red interiors? I ordered my Pista RC with a Rossa Ferrari leather interior so the upper dash area will be red. Does the Rosso Coburn match up well with it or does it clash like Rosso Fuoco does? Anyone know?
The Rosso Coburn, is a killer look, but someone here said the price was more than the $28K for Rosso Fuoco or Rosso Maranello. Can anyone confirm? Seems like RM is closer to Coburn than Fuoco, agree?
Maybe Mr Coburn paid the big price to develop his paint color choice. However Rosso Fuoco was once an exclusive paint back in 2009. Ferrari used that special paint Rosso Fuoco to introduce the 599 HTGE model and then demand exploded for that paint. Your dealer will be able to confirm the current price. Rosso Fuoco has more of an orange tone in certain light. After all it is Fire Red!
Totally agree that Maranello or California Rosso is a bit dark in the shadow but is an absolutely perfect red in the bright sun. You can see it well on these pics where the car is with one side more in the shadow and the other side in the sun (GTC4Lusso is California Rosso and F12 is Rosso Fuoco) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Anco when you say “California Rosso” are you referring to Rosso Portfolio? Is the Lusso paint Rosso Portfolio? Thank you in advance for the clarification
No not referring to Rosso Portofino. It's another red. Rosso California is also shown in the configurator for the GTC4Lusso. In the shadow it's a dark red and in the sunlight it becomes a bright red. It costed € 7,400 extra (CZ price ex vat)
