My buddy got his first Ferrari

I finally found a bargain perfect condition rear cavallino and Chairman is pissed about the possibility of me changing it LOL! I may just leave it be, but I wanted to at least have the original emblem. I may change it this summer to switch it up a bit.

That interior looks great!

I bought it yesterday. I agree. I actually could do either or. I think the chrome looks great but the only downside is that it isn't original and there is no other chrome on the car. But I guess you could say the same thing about the 355, 360, any other Ferrari that come with chrome from the factory. Most people seem to be asking $300 for them over the past 5 or 6 years, I grabbed one for $100, couldn't pass it up.

 

Easy enough to paint a chrome badge black...

It's in mint condition, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered. After 5 years I'm Still looking for a Chocolate center dash panel (below radio).

 

you not can can put paint on chrome directly. this paint will get away when you use a steam cleaner even with low pressure. may be you use on the chrome some chemical stuff and then the paint - never tried this

 

Its best to sand it and use a self etching primer. I used to use a (can) product called Bulldog from an automotive paint supply store. Also best to use clear coat (of course).

Yep, if you are worried about that sort of thing. Makes no sense to me.

The person has not even owned one ferrari in his life and has no real world expierence of ownership but let's go for two.

Sorry to be critical, but this is the mindset I read about in this section regarding TRs, 512s continually and it's preposterous.

Less driving so I may get a couple bucks more when I sell it. But when I sell it it still may be worth less than when I bought it. Nothing is guaranteed.

 

Funny... after my first Ferrari purchase, Im having a similar yet totally different issue. Ive already put over 700 miles on my TR after a month.... and now i want another Ferrari! Not to save miles but add more miles to more Ferraris!! I want this experience all the time! TR for weekends, 458 daily, FF for road trips and snow driving... (and id only check the odometer to know when to change the oil). Im totally obsessed....need to make more money asap

I hope this guy gets bit by the same enthusiasm bug..... he needs to enjoy that thing!!
