Buy a home polishing kit- it comes like a small bench grinder and polishing mop wheels, polish compound etc- bolt it down , plug it in and away you go. Not expensive and cheaper than new knob.
Looking on Amazon uk, they call them bench grinder polishing kits, avoid under powered ones like 250 watts as it will stop if you press too hard. 500watts or more, mine is 850.

Find the right screw and then chuck it into a drill press. Progress thru the grits starting with 600. Then use rubbing compound. Most of the scratches are due to the lacquer coating. Don't replace the coating when you're done! It's easier to touch up from time to time if you don't.

Hill Engineering sells one for the 360. Looks OEM, I'm installing mine tonight.

They advertise it as 355/360... here are the two side by side. Pic is hard to get with the glare.

The beauty of the Hill gear knobs is they are hard chromed, so they will retain their great looks for much longer.
On my oem knob on my 355, I had a friend polish off the scratched up clear coat, and from then on, I had to polish it every 3 or 4 months with some metal polish to keep it looking nice, otherwise it would start to take on a hazy matte look to it. The Hill gear knob is a great solution.

yup that is F355 pattern not 360 pattern, notice how the pattern on 355 goes inward toward bottom compared to our straight down pattern on 360

Yeah, it's different, but I don't mind it... my car arrived today (first F car), so i never saw it up close before I bought from Hill. It looks very nice!

If you dont want to polish up yourself, then take it to the local chrome plating shop and let them sort it out.. Buy a polisher and learn a new skill, mind you , you will end up a bit mucky
