I have been offered a 2006 gold and stainless Rolex Daytona that has been recently serviced and lightly spiffed up. It comes with original box and paperwork, and a 1 year warranty. The watch presents as new and the asking price is $11,000. Is this a good deal for me as the buyer, assuming all of the above is true and correct? Thanks for your responses.

Out of curiosity, what dial does it have? Do you have a photo?

I don’t know the reason, but the all stainless is much more desirable than the two-tone version. May I suggest spending some time on the Rolex forum. You’ll see that the two-tone versions are much less than the all stainless.

I just picked up a T/T Zenith a couple days ago. I'm a firm believer that the two tone are undervalued. Ive heard a few theories as to why. 1. the all steel is more discrete, and 2. people might mistake them for white gold, and you can seem fancier than you are... Whatever the case, its a good deal at 11K

The slate dial 116523 Daytona tends to be less valuable than the other dials including Panda, Newman, blue with Arabic numerals, white dials, MOP, etc. $11k is still fair considering the recent service value and being complete with books/papers though. If it had been another dial it could have been a smoking deal though!

The watch seems to have a lot of scratches and signs from this pic. I’d ask for better pics before buying.
If conditions are not good price is even high.

How bad do you want a Daytona? Personally, I'd rather get another white dial on the two tone. That, and it will probably sit longer if you get tired of it.

FWIW, I got mine in '00 for $7.5K (15%off) and traded it in on a Patek 5055, which I traded on a platinum Lange 1. LMAO! I'm sick!

    Just my .02

The watch is not scratched. I’ve seen it in person and held it in my hands.
