Yes, that is right. The original color from what I could tell was Azzurro Metallizzato Light Blue Metallic but I prefer the darker blue.

I did a 200 mile round trip to Lymington, Hampshire on Sunday for the Italia Festival. Fine and dry, but overcast - ideal weather for an early morning drive over, and a late afternoon drive back to GLOS. across Salisbury plain, through the Savernake Forest and over the Marlborough Downs. Lovely roads for a Dino:)

48 Ferraris, mostly modern, drove in convoy around the town and parked up in the High Street (closed for the day), in aid of a charity which supports young (5-12 year old) carers. The event organiser is the local Police Chief, so no shortage of constables to do escort duty and stop traffic to allow us through. We drew an estimated 4,000 crowd who lined the route and came to see the cars and talk to the owners. Interest in my car was immense and I hardly had a minute to myself - if I had a pound for every person who told me that my Dino was their favourite car of the day, or for every kid who climbed into the driver's seat for a photo, I would be a wealthy man.

A funny incident occurred as we were assembling in the car park of a local marina prior to the convoy drive. This guy turns up on his Vespa and tries to park it in the area reserved for Ferraris. He is politely told by the event organiser to take his machine elsewhere, whereupon he becomes very rude and abusive, little realising what Rob (not, of course, in uniform) does for a living. Within minutes he was more than a little surprised to find himself surrounded by half a dozen constables who escorted him off the premises!

The Daytona parked next to my Dino is a 47 year old one owner car - I don't imagine there are that many of those around.

Sounds like a nice time. I have grown fond of the lenses over the headlamps.

Last Sunday actually, but I've only now got around to posting.

It was a lovely sunny morning and I met up with Adrian (348TS in blu chiaro, matching my Dino) just north of the M4 for a run over to Haynes Museum for our monthly SW Ferrari breakfast meeting. As it was an early on Sunday, we were lucky enough to enjoy a spirited 50 mile drive on good roads in light traffic. I had an excellent "full English" in company with seven other owners (308 vetro, 348, 355,360 430, 430 spider, 456) and then headed down to Exeter, another 50 miles or so, but sadly in rather heavier traffic by this time, to swap the Dino for the 550 for the return drive to GLOS. - in even worse traffic, alas!!

The Dino was on top form and the drive over to Sparkford was a real joy. Surely this is Ferrari's best (although the 550 comes close)!!

UGH!!! DEAD CELL BATTERY SO NO PICS! :(

But unless there's another black 246 GTS with flairs and 17 inch Campys and a red interior, I just cruised up the 405 with David Lee's Dino! And me in my yellow Dino. I got onto the 405 and saw the black Dino speeding up the freeway. I quickly sped up to get along side and I was honking my horn but the driver didn't notice at all. So I got around some traffic and got ahead of him so he could spot me and sure enough, he sped over and cruised together up and over the 405. The other driver did take some pics as I could see him with his cell phone pointed back at me. We exited together and at the light I tried to talk to him about his suspension modifications because while driving, I noticed how nice the car sat. Lower than stock. But couldn't here anything over our exhausts. And then I noticed the 17 inch wheels. And the light bulb goes off. Unfortunately I had to get to work so I couldn't follow him any further.

I’ve driven it. A really visceral experience! Lots of power and torque! We drove it through the Santa Monica Mountain on the curvy canyon roads. Handled fantastic! Shame that there are no modern cars this analog, light and drop dead gorgeous!

freeman, that must have been a great drive ! another feature that was well done were the headlight covers , no fasteners were visible ,the black tint on the edges worked well with the black color of the car.

Yes, nicely done. My main critique on the headlamps are the shape. They’re made out of what looks like flat plexi. Needs to be contoured and continue the shape of the fender like the Brandoli covers.

We had a blast yesterday at our monthly “secret location” Malibu C&C. Doesn’t get much better with the selection of cars, people and ocean! We then went to Trancas for breakfast and then I went home via Decker Canyon Road. Decker is amazing! It’s like your own personal 20 mile Targa Florio from PCH to the 101 Freeway! No traffic. Just the best twisting rolling canyon roads going from sea level to higher altitudes. Perfect to test every part of your car (and the driver!)! I would have taken some photos up there but I was having too much fun driving!

I picked mine up today from my local Ferrari agent (Carrs of Exeter) after it had its annual service and general check-up. There was a lovely white Dino in the workshop being put back together after a full restoration, property of Roger O'Donnell of The Cure. Sorry no photos. There was also a Portofino outside in an almost identical shade of blue to my Dino - see photos. As it was a fine morning, I took it for a spirited drive around some of Devon's back roads - it really is a magical machine :):):) - before putting it away in its garage. The only problem was that after I got into my 911 to drive home, I kept starting off in 2nd.!

Looks like a great event at an ideal location, Freeman! Interesting mixture of cars, too. Keeping it semi-secret and selective seems to have worked out just right.

Nice California coastal pictures. I can almost feel the cool breeze from the ocean as I look at the photos.

I was not aware of the Decker Canyon Road. I usually took Las Virgenes or Kanan road from the 101, if I recall correctly. I am now going to keep the Decker road in mind for my next trip to So Cal!

Here’s some shots from our one time “Cars&Coffee Invitational” reunion I helped organize for Sept 28th at our original location at the Ford Campus in Irvine. It rained but we had a great turnout! Every car was invited and had to have an RSVP. All ‘78 or older or a special vehicle ie BMW Z1. We separated them in rows of different countries. in My friend owns the Stratos Zero and Pontiac Vivant. I was entrusted to drive them! Pretty cool!
