quick question: when pads are changed to aftermarket ones that do not incorporate the pad sensor, does that trigger a CEL?
Just wondering because I put on EBC pads and left the sensor disconnected and now have a CEL, but wondering if it’s a coincidence?

Replacing brake pads and not reinstalling the brake pad wear sensor will not trigger a CEL.

I recently changed my front rotors and pads and tucked away the sensor and I get no CEL.

Perhaps you should read the CEL first. What code?

And yes, do a fault code reading to determine what the anomaly is.

Bluetooth ELM327 scanner on Ebay, less than $15, no excuse not to have one. Synchs with your iPhone or Android phone, using freeware.
