For those of you using dashcams ... how do you route the power cable so it is unobtrusive? Only place to get power is the connector between the seats to the rear. Thanks!

Fix it with a suction cup on the rear window.

Had not thought of that - thanks! I'll have to check the resulting 'view.'

Assume this is for track days? I mounted one on the back window of my NSX at Road America and it worked great.

run the cable over to the A pilar and then you can snake it around the door gasket over there, then down and follow along the carpet seam along the edge where the door shuts. If you remove the panel back there behind the seat (behind the lower left of the seat), you can gain access back under there and then get across over to where the center console has its power.

This is how it's done on the 458; I assume the 488 should be pretty similar

Thanks, Ray. I am going to see how the back window installation works and if not satisfactory will give this a try. Bob

Yep, track days and trips. I am going to give the rear window a try ...

It's been so long but when I did this on the back window I remember the camera would only fit upside down for some reason and I had to edit the video to flip it. I'm guessing camera technology has improved since 2005 or whenever that was.

Interesting! I'll keep this in mind. I've ordered the little Garmin 45 unit

I gave up on Garmin ... and the power cable. Turns out a 'dash cam' type of camera is not the best for track (or any) videos. I purchased a GoPro and it is fantastic. A million ways to mount it and no power cable thanks to an internal rechargeable battery. Great video and audio! Bob
