I can't stand country and rap, from that perspective I live in the wrong state.

Totally love Louane, Zazie, Angele and Juliette Armanet to name a few. Also loved France's Euro contribution a few years back which of course didn't do well, but c'est la vie.

OK, but there is nothing to compare to ABBA today at the ESC.

Music must have died at the end of the century, or maybe just good taste.

Now it's mostly garish, and shockingly bad on the whole; the verdict of 3 générations in my household.

ESC is a poor advert for pop music, I would have thought, and many artists wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

As for the voting ... it's more controversial than the UN General Assembly !

....After the official announcement that Zandvoort would return to the premier category of motorsport , the organization has opened a pre-registration so that fans can begin to formulate the application to purchase tickets for the event, which is expected to be in May.


The deadline for pre-registration began on Monday, and according to the publication of the GP Today, Jan Lammers has revealed that in the first two days they received up to 150,000 applications. But the thing does not end there, up to half a million people have done it in this first week!

Despite the exorbitant figures handled by the Dutch route, Lammers expects the requests to increase to 650,000, because the possible duplicate registrations or the persons who have re-registered in the second week of the term have not yet been taken into account.

Call me a capitalistic snob, but I really hope it won't come down to a draw for selling tickets. Let the forces of the free market supply and demand decide.

In addition I have a hard time getting my head around the concept of the track organizers to do a lottery drawing while OTOH you have F1's own website offering tickets for sale. How is that going to work?

Bottom line is, that I don't like any of this. Looks like it is going to be a total zoo with a gazillion people milling around. Maybe I have to postpone this GP till some later time. We'll see.

Being a Verstappen fan I would fit nicely in with my oranje trikot. That said, I'm no fan of big crowds, especially not when trying to take pictures and have all the yahoos jump up and down in front of me.

 

Oddly enough the official F1 website lists the 2020 Barca GP but not the Zandvoort GP. Hello sleepy head, time to wake up!

FWIIW: Received an invitation from F1 for their new Zandvoort experiences: Pitwalk etc combined with a weekend long ticket. So they are actually selling tickets for three different grand stands. But only as part of these packages.

 

Increased banking on the final corner is being proposed or looked into as one of several aspects for the 2020GP.

 

Allegedly today the 100k lucky ones who have been selected to buy F1 tickets were notified by email. I got no email.
