IMO thats the neat thing about the "special" V-8 mid engined Ferraris. CS, Scud, Specialle, Pista.
You can follow your heart AND your mind (financially).

In my mind a 430 Scud roadster is THE best investment in a newer used Ferrari today.
And I'm not a convertible fan.
As a performance driver the coupe Scud is hard to beat $$$$.

I have been eying upgrading to a scud from my 430 for a little bit now. These threads are not making it easier. Just need to put my nose to the grind stone for a little longer. Hopefully prices don’t shoot up in the meantime.

I agree 100% yes there are Scud. out there for a very low price but there alway's a story behind it , the Scud. give it time will be very rare down the road in line with the F40 , F50 , Enzo give it time ,

This statement is confusing. Other than attrition from accidents, the 430 Scuderia "give it time will be very rare down the road...". The number is fixed, unless you mean demand will increase over time, as people realize the special nature of the car. While I believe the price of the Scuderia may go up in the future (most Ferraris do as they hit 25 to 30 years), it may not be like some think. There seems to be a lot more of them made than the other cars you mention. And Ferrari has made a lot of other limited edition cars in recent years, all competing for buyers.

Ed Bolian from VinWiki just purchased a '09 Scud for $140k. Mixed feelings as he has a huge following on Youtube and it'll increase interest in the car, but I think he got a really low price.

    Wow that is just awesome!
Ed is a huge guru on Lambo’s and has had a couple brilliant gated LP640’s. Nice to know he likes both brands, as I do.

    What wasn't mentioned:
Accident history. Hazed headlights. Damaged carbon rear diffuser. Sticky interior buttons. Hazing/yellowing engine carbon panels. Damaged lexan rear hatch.

With that said, 140K is still a deal provided the car is mechanically sound. Lets hope it is because if it isn't, I'm sure he will go on a public rant about how terrible the Scuderia is...these personalities always have their own personal agenda, I'm pretty sure he chose to glaze over all the above details I mentioned to make himself "look good".

Actually if you watch Ed Bolian's videos, you'll see that he likes cars with a "history" and likes to fix the flaws. He seems like a really interesting fellow and a true auto enthusiast.

$140k is a steal for an 09 Scud.

I believe he also reviewed the manual Scud and recalled its history.

I believe this car was also around 30k mi?

My buddy said car was a rental. Doesn’t recall accident history, but does have some paint work (normal) and damaged sideskirts.

Trust me it went off the road and into a railing, not catastrophically but enough. I know because a friend of a friend was the one that ran it into the railing lol.

I hope he does gated conversion like he mentioned in his scud vlog. Pretty cool he gave the Eag guys a shout out.

This car is on my want to drive list.

Was this accident noted in the carfax? I assume not. Friend of a friend had accident as an owner or renter?

I still need to sell some stuff rather than selling / trading my 996 GT2 and a NSX in exchange for a Scud.

Ferrari Silicon Valley had a Lemon titled car, but very very nice, without stripe for about that much about a year ago.

Is it the one who supposedly skidded from coolant in that DDE video?

What's wrong with the Scuderia market? In the meantime here in Switzerland we have 40 (!!) Scuderia's in the market, of which 5 Spiders M16, and the prices are falling.
Is it the same in other markets? US? GB? APAC?

In the US, there are more cars for sale, and more asking sub-$200k

2+ years ago when my tiny car fund exceeded $100k (OK, stop laughing) I started following the market closely. At that time, the online ad places would show 28-30 cars, with 1 or 2 max asking under $200k.

Now, those same sites are showing 40-ish cars usually with 6 or more asking under $200k, with another 3-4 in the $201-$209k area. Seems like the cars asking $220-230k aren't moving at all, the $170k or less cars move pretty briskly these days.

But Scuderias are not alone, there are multiple CS asking under $200k, and you can get a 16M under $300k. The lower end of the Ford GT market has gone from $300k+ to $250k.

    Seriously, stop laughing.....being underfunded sucks.

Then entire used exotic car market in the USA is generally soft, and has been for the past couple years.

In Europe there are still over 100 SCUD's for sale, not much has changed there (links below)

However 458's are if anything higher price wise as a few people have started buying them for future value, one person in Switzerland has bought 10 alone.

488's hard to believe but 641 for sale; 455 for sale in Europe, 115 in Switzerland & 71 in the UK

SCUDs still 38 for sale in Switzerland + 67 in Continetal Europe + 10 in the UK
