The Bruins held a scrimmage at the Garden last night, and had over 16,000 people there! I knew there would be a good crowd, but I expected a little under 10k. Almost selling out the building for a glorified practice is pretty impressive.

Ya, that would not have been good. But, I like that they are simulating regular game days, and trying to keep to their normal schedule. It's a tough call whether to take it easy and play it safe leading up to the Finals, or go at it as hard as you can. Pluses and minuses for both approaches.

That layoff is far too long. Advantage Blues for sure. Especially since Rask was unbeatable.

Both teams have shown flaws in the playoffs. But it usually comes down to mistakes and goal tending. Anyone can win now.

I look back at the Golden Knights vs Sharks and that's exactly what happened. Then Fleury was on and Jones off, Vegas won. Fleury gave up one bad goal in OT and that changed everything.

Was at a local arena today. Took a few banner pics of current and former NHLers who played their minor hockey here. This is one of two AAA teams, the other being Junior Knights who Drew Doughy, Logan Couture, Nazem Kadri played for.

Maybe that break did get Rask out of his zone. He normally stops that, especially with how hot he’s been recently. Long break maybe cooled him off

It definitely took the Bruins 20-30 minutes to get their legs, but overall, that was a hell of a game. Lots of physical play, which is going to be fun to watch throughout the series.

    My take on game 1.

Bruins looked 10x more energetic, more passionate, and wanted the game more. They dominated the 2nd and 3rd periods. They looked like men among boys. If you didn't know the score, and just watched the game (without seeing any of the goals), you would be shocked that St. Louis actually led 2-0 at one point, and that they even managed to score 2 goals.

I don't recall seeing the puck in Boston's zone for more than 10-15 seconds, and it seemed like it was only in their zone for a total of 3 minutes the entire game. Complete domination.

Mike,I agree..but they were but one goal down,one..at the end.The lay did affect them..and Blues didn’t start so hot on SJ either.
But Gloria has to feel we can do this...domination,I dunno..but jeez Bruins sure can manage the puck, which this game is about, innit.
    BIG game next..be fun. CheersRE

Understood, but I am observing that despite the 1-goal lead, St. Louis was lucky it was only 1. Boston completely schooled them last night.

You're right, that was only 1 game, and like the past 3 series, St. Louis dropped the 1st game and looked lost, only to come back strong in game 2 and subsequent games each series. The difference this time is they are facing a very strong Boston team with a very good goalie, unlike the previous 3 series.

I’m at game 2 tonight and had a meet and greet with #4, that got interrupted by another legend. No way we lose with both these guys here!
