You can order partial kits. The stock coil works just fine.
Condensers are pretty generic things. Its best to buy as big of condenser that will fit (and with the fittings in a suitable place to connect the hoses). A big improvement with modern condensers is that they are parallel flow rather than serpentine flow. If you've converted to R134a, this will help get the vent temperature back down into the 30s F. … of course, it doesn't help with the bigger problem which is the (lack of) volume of air flow.
Mike if you do decide to replace your AC hoses please let us know if you were able to pull those through the original routing into the engine bay . Will be happy to be proven wrong but I just don’t see it with the fittings attached. Two sharp 90’s after exiting the rocker and pulled through a 2 inch opening behind the fuel tank.
I'll advise if/when I actually do anything re the hoses. We are in the UK now for 5 months and I won't be back to TX, where the 328 is located, until November.
Maybe in the other direction? From the engine bay to the front compartment? So you wouldn't have to pull the 90° fittings through the tight openings. I'm curious as well. Best from Germany Martin
I pulled mine from the engine bay forward also but without the fittings attached for condenser and dryer up front. Maybe framework is different in this area with later model 308/328 series but this is what I encountered with the 82 GTS. Project was really simple without the fittings attached upfront.
