Hamilton drove just slow enough to win. :)
He didn't, really. Ricciardo was in a far worse position being 200hp down last year after part of his engine let go and still defended. Just put your car in a position that the next car can't put it near you and job is done. Also noted by the British commentators, Lewis rear tyres where in great condition which allowed him to power out of the slow corners where he needed to, and the Mercedes power kept him there.
But you still need your front tyres to be in good condition, and his were graining. Monaco isn't really the place where you want too much growing understeering, is it?
You're joking right. If you think for one second that Ferrari did not hsve MS as a #1 driver and had standing orders for him to gain pisition over his teammates give me a break. I am not saying he was not arguably the best driver, but he had little conpetition from his teammates in an equal car. Maybe you should ask some of his past teammates, but I believe it has been well documented, they were #2. Period.
Exactly. Congrats to Hambone his front tires were toast. You could see his understeer struggles on the hairpin and chicanes and how much more precise Max was in staying on his ass. Strategy error by Merc sending him out on mediums with 67 laps to go and props to Hambone for being able to hold off Max for the win.
On almost any other track, Max would have beat him today. Heck, if Leclercs Bahrain situation would have happened at Monaco instead he might have still retained 1st place. I hate Monaco.
Horner agrees: "Red Bull Formula 1 team boss Christian Horner says Max Verstappen was "really reserved" in his pursuit of Monaco Grand Prix winner Lewis Hamilton" http://classic.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/143682?source=mostpopular
Vettel just sat there the whole race, no attempt to put pressure on Max , or even get past him and then attack Lewis. In other words not racing. Yes he knew Max had 5 secs penalty so i guess it's ok to just cruise round and pick up the cheque?Gifted 2nd . At least Max stuck to the back of Lewis and attempted a pass and kept Lewis under pressure right to the end.
Well I don't remember those but Hamilton was able to drive twice the distance on those medium tires because its almost impossible to pass at Monaco. If he was in 2nd place he would have changed them.
For my money, there isn’t any more exciting a driver today than Max. And to a certain extent, Leclerc . With the conservative way the other leaders drive, or the limitations/superiority of heir vehicles, there’s no one else to watch really. I have complete admiration and respect for their achievements but the uncontested MB team makes it boring. There needs to be a legitimate rivalry.
Lewis wears his emotions on his sleeve - - that's his style. He was just venting about his tire selection situation, that's all. Sorry if he isn't quite as "teutonic" as his team's home country.
Hamilton may be the face of F1 right now, but I still think it's funny they mostly air his radio messages. I get it he is the most popular driver, but they should air other teams radio messages. I remember once they aired Magnussen cursing his pit crew, and the famous Vettel cursing Charley Whiting. Maybe only Ham's messages are tv friendly
Again: which championship was "handed him over" by his team mate"??? Which championship do you think he would not have won if not his team mate went out of his way? You post does not answer this question at all but yet all Lewis-fanboys like it, what a surprise Gesendet von meinem SM-G930F mit Tapatalk
Yes, every victory in history (apart a few on the green table) were because of track position! When you have the first position when the flag falls you are the winner, didn't you know that??? Gesendet von meinem SM-G930F mit Tapatalk
Yeah right, if you can hear something said by him on team radio you do not like you can still blame those who air it... like "fake news"... works perfect in other terms of life Gesendet von meinem SM-G930F mit Tapatalk
