He gets to race with a lot less pressure. Given he's already super rich I'd probably want to do the same.
Yes, Kimi is back to his old self, just going through the motions without much conviction. At least now he can blame an inferior car for his lack of effort.
Kimi quietly having a good first half of the year. He now stands 8th - and would be higher with the lost points from Germany.
Joy to watch him out there. Germany was epic...I was sure He was losing position to Seb and he turned his defense into an attack...and gained a position!
He is indeed doing a very solid job, without making too much fuss about it. 8th is almost "best of the rest"...and better than the Renault boys. Rgds
Too often we forget that there is a tremendous amount of talent outside the regular guys in the WDC Hunt. For Kimi to have remained competitive for this long, bagging a WDC along the way, and still having fun is a throwback to a bygone era where these guys enjoyed just being out there competing in many different brands of machinery (Sauber McLaren Ferrari Lotus Sauber...) and staying relevant
Loulou, Maxie, Sebbie and Charlie watch out... THE ACEMAN COMETH!!!!!! https://www.instagram.com/p/B1Lc0RgBH3J/
Kimi with a classic take on exercise: “Sport. It is dangerous. I always said it is more dangerous – drinking is probably safer. Usually you don’t get injured, you just get a hangover.”
makes sense, but probably as a haiku: vintage max will crash tell your wife to stop calling go get me a beer
How can anyone dislike this guy Another Kimi classic....... “Yeah I have that Force India or whatever the **** it’s called!”
I wonder how much higher Kimi would have finished in the points last season had he not been forced to play #2 to Seb now that I see how bad Seb is...
WTF was with the penalty for the wrong tires? He crashes and starts from the back of the grid, so he would have his choice of tires. Does being in Q3 negate that? That is ludicrous.
Unfortunately, yeah, the rules are there to create confusion all the damn time. What’s the point, he started from pit lane anyway, at the bloody back, and got a whack for his trouble, they effectively destroyed the race of four of the top ten qualifiers within about ten laps with stupid decisions that made no difference whatsoever...
Even for Seb and stroll, yes, they both got going again in a stupid way, but Hans devices and racing helmets, plus the bodywork around the cockpit, mean they can barely see to the sides anyway, and mirrors are useless at the best of times, both had already paid with a ton of laptime, why couldn’t they get fined with money going to a road death charity or something, or a five second stop go when changing their noses etc, rather than an extra stop go or drive thru. Racing isn’t supposed to be completely safe, if someone hits you, that’s just racing some days. How many times has Elton nerfed someone around with a stupid lunge, or a crazy defence, yet I can’t remember him getting penalised for it, the guy even got craned back on track one time and was allowed to get away with it. Seb was daft, but what could he do? Sit there the entire race waiting for a ten second gap between cars?, stroll too
