    DB: “Unfortunately it seems likely that in the future the path we have previously followed, that is to increase the power and to reduce the weight, is no longer possible. We are moving towards cars that will certainly be even more powerful than the current ones, but also heavier: this is due to the complexity of the hybrid systems and their batteries. I'm a little sorry about this, but the future "obligates" this for reason of emissions and associated issues . In any case it takes a little humility to recognize that the best models are always those still to be introduced: with the 458 we seemed to have reached the culmination of possibilities, then along came the 488 which was another great step forward and now the 488 Pista making another one! We were a bit skeptical before starting the tests with the LaFerrari hybrid, but instead it turned out to be much better than the Enzo in every aspect. Moreover, even the current Formula 1 are hybrids, and road Ferrari have always used technologies and solutions borrowed from Formula 1, just as happened in its time with the advent of the turbo."
