Ferrari have said they don't want to turbo the V12, and that was less than a year ago.

I am not sure if that comment is "tongue in cheek", but Adrian Newey (Valkyrie), and Ferrari for that matter, seem to believe that the N/A V12 is the king of engines. The manual gearbox is a relic.

It will be interesting to see how the hybrid cars age.

IMO the problem with this technology is that what is the latest and greatest today is completely antiquated in five years. Perhaps these cars will only be desirable for a short period of time and then put out to pasture? I wonder what it will take to own one ten years down the road. What's the lifespan of the system? What special diagnostics do you need? How many charges can the batteries take? What would replacement batteries cost? Will they even be availible?

I just did a F1 to manual conversion on a 2000 360 and couldn't help but think that at the time that was "the greatest tech" Ferrari had to offer. Twenty years later you realize how clunky and dated it is. Lol, It's like buying a home with "the best" stereo system from 1995. Perhaps the hybrids will share the same downfall? Or maybe they'll just be disposable toys that people only buy when new, discarding them when the new "it" car arrives?

Yours is a fair point but several potential purchasers have asked (see original BB thread) or will need to know if its suitable for touring or even if you can fit a helmet on the way to the track - and thanks to Albert-LP the answer is no way.......

For anyone interested to see how the SF90 would look with a body colored roof I have just posted two Photoshopped images on my Instagram:

Looks more sleek and elegant to me. What do you think?

Why didn't Ferrari put the battery lower, like along the floor or something? Why is it so high up behind the seats?

No, one is a DD so you put up with some trade offs esp in high traffic areas.

I expect my exotics to be the opposite.

Kind of how I felt about the 918. Great in its day and I enjoy driving it, but the tech and performance will soon be surpassed at a fraction of the price, leaving only the body as the selling/collecting point if any. Maybe you can argue the same for the P1?

Since I no longer drink the Ferrari koolaid, to me it is ugly with a capital U especially the rear and real 3/4 view. Be honest if it was not wearing the horse, what would your opinion of the design be?

Just keep in mind that the manual is at least two times slower than the F1 of the 360...

Yes, and that fact means nothing if you happen to own a manual 360. :)

its nice but I was hoping for a similar evolution that Porsche had with the 959 into the 993tt. they took all the best tech of the 959 and put it in a future everyday car. I wanted Ferrari to take the laf and make it series production ready. Imo, laf is still miles above this car. they could reintroduce laf exactly as it was 5 yrs ago, price it at twice the stradale and it would still sell out. I don't think people would've bought a series production 959 in 1998 at twice 993tt. (not talking about collectors and low volume production value)
