Hi all, just picked up my F430!! Seems as though the sound quality is far less when I play music through an ipod that I have connected in the glove box vs putting in a regular audio CD....I wonder if I'm doing something wrong or is this just how it is....

Is the iPod connected via an aux lead or the actual Becker iPod interface?

It's connected directly to the cable that hangs in the glove Box

Just spent some solid time trying to figure this out.....an audio CD definitely sounds a lot clearer than the ipod for some reason....the ipod is connected directly to the connector in the glove box....the best way I can describe is that when the ipod is playing, even at a normal volume it sounds distorted like when I was a kid and would turn a speaker all the way up...garbled.....

Where did the music on the iPod come from? Are you sure the audio source was high-quality? If you listen to the iPod with headphones and then plug the iPod into the car, does the music sound the same or does the quality only degrade once plugged into the car?

    Is this a 3.5mm cable?

The way you describe it, it sounds like an analogue cable failure, or the headphone socket.

Is the car young enough to have a usb connection, is it the original Becker head unit?

The CD player uses the internal digital to analogue converter and will be better than using the headphone socket on an ipod.
