    Hey everyone,

I need some help in the area, picking up a Ducati, getting it home to Texas..

With my crash I'm not so sure "driving it home" is such a wise idea.
600 miles on the ODO currently.
    :D :D

I'm checking AMTRAK now, to see if I can "check it as luggage", you know like a bicycle!!
Anyone want to go get it and drive it home, temporarily......without crashing??

Where's Peter Brinzey, or another of you "dual purpose" Ferrari/Ducati guys???
    TIA

Simi Valley is technically part of SOCAL. However, its unlikely many people south of LA would think that.

Good luck finding a rider. About an hour is the longest I can ride my Ducati.

    Thanks killer58!

This actually looks interesting as my Austin 2018 F1 ticket scammer was in Hesperia, north of Medicino.
So, I could pick the bike up, take a ride thru the forest north of Mendicino, and maybe smoke out some facts!!

Putting back on the AMTRAK with me, back to Houston would certainly be easiest. They might want it palletized or something, I will investigate tomorrow!

I actually had driven it ALL weekend at MotoGP, all the parties, exhibits, concerts.

Was getting really comfortable on it, before it was torn out of my hands.

Big Tex, Simi Valley is about 45 minutes East of me. Some great riding in this area if you want to fly in, ride around locally, and then put it in a Uhaul and drive back to Texas. I have ramps and can help you load it. I would offer to store it at my house for you, but unfortunately we are bursting at the seams with cars now (7 - they multiply like rabbits) and there is no space in the garage.

Agree with Greg. I have seen plenty weekend warriors have bikes strapped in bed of up truck tailgate down. Uhaul 20 bucks a day for pickups.

Well, Amtrak is bringing me in, but U Haul does not let the trucks or vans out of the City, local only.

Going to see my girls at Enterprise, they have trucks.

    Thanks everyone.

Any one way rental out of CA is really expensive with everyone fleeing the regime. You can actually get free rentals if you’re heading there.

you can always rent a small SUV, and rent a small uhaul trailer. both can easily do a 1-way. it would be cheapest and easiest to drive....

btw, Hesperia is a crappy area, Simi Valley is a nice conservative city, reason why Rodney King trial was moved there, and handed a none-guilty verdict. it is also where Reagan's library is.

I actually was thinking I COULD drive it "some ways" home, and see how I felt.

Turns out, my spine is broken in THREE places, fired a surgeon last Friday!

Yes, there's a certain Austin F1 ticket scam, that hit me, from there, but her landlord was cashing the transfers.
I do have some addresses, wanted to do a drive by 'look see'!

Their are some amazing roads out here in So. Cal. Get out here, ride the bike around for a weekend out here and trailer or truck it home.

If you come out here shoot me a PM. I’m 15 minutes away from Simi and could show you some great rides. The attached pic is one of the great roads but as you can see we do get an occasional rock slide in these roads. This was yesterday.

    Thanks so much!!

Update: Everything has come in the way of this deal......but still after it!!

No medical clearance to ride, third problem found in my spline. Tried the 996 yesterday and even a short ride was pretty sore!
Still, working on it and hope to be there soon!
