Just sold at Villa D’Este: https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/ve19/villa-erba/lots/r0040-1967-ferrari-330-gtc-zagato/773485
I think it should be here. It's a one-off and a curiosity, and not a benchmark for other models' values. Matt
I'd own it if the price was right. It's sort if like a Fiat X 1/9 on steroids. And it has to be one of a few or one of one right? I'm not an expert. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Mercifully one of one, it looks worse in person. The car should have been restored/rebodied as per original IMO. Chinetti had several of these "inspirations" in that period.
Definitely an acquired taste. I don't know much about designers other than seeing the names. With Zagato it's usually about the "Double Bubble." But usually I don't like the other stuff I see from them. Same for Bertone, I rarely like anything I see by Bertone.
While I've never been a fan of "re-bodies" or "recreations", if I had something like this, I wouldn't hesitate to fabricate a new copy of OEM body for it. At least the chassis and running gear (i.e. +/- 2/3) would be "original" GTC and it would look much more attractive.
The number expected was $450k, I got that from my contact at RM. I am a fan @ just above 50% of that number...
