Of all the possibilities , if it’s really the batt, that would be the easiest and cheapest to fix. Let’s cross our fingers it’s the batt [emoji23]

On a side note , how about the starting of the car from cold start? Has that been fine on all occasions including that drive with the slow down ?

If it’s indeed the battery , the cold starts should be sluggish, from my experience.

The cold starts have felt more sluggish, but wasn’t sure if it was because they were mostly after doing ECU resets (battery disconnect switch).
The battery definitely is something I’ll be focusing on before I take it for a Leonardo scan (if I get another CEL). I’ll check out the power window thing as well, out of curiosity. Thanks for the tip!
Only other anomaly worth mentioning is, I do get the suspension error warning light after about 20 mins of driving, but it’s been going on for years, so doubt it’s related.

I do get a brief (2 seconds or so) hiss as well from the engine, when accelerating under load. Doesn’t do it revving in neutral.
Sounds like a turbo blow off valve or intermittent vacuum leak, but I found another thread that suggests it’s normal for these cars. Can’t understand why they do it.

Fingers crossed it’s the battery. It’d be nice to determine a cause and not have to worry about the next time it may do this again.

I get the suspension error under the same conditions, I would love to figure that one out. I hate when that light pops on, it ruins the joy of the drive for me.

I suspect it’s a bad sensor on a shock or something.
Not sure if it has other implications to driving modes.

The usual culprit is the rear acceleration sensor. Common part to fail, had to replace mine last year. You need a Leo or Sd to read the suspension faults.

Chased a Slow Down light from when I bought the car 5 years ago. Swapped ECU's; replaced ECU's and it kept coming back with no rhyme or reason. Then we cleaned all the contacts very carefully and guess what? SDL has been gone for years.

It's like, "my motorcycle won't start"; ah, have you checked to see if there is gas in the tank, is the petcock turned on? Start with the simple stuff.

Agreed, also using resin and in hot engine bay so also liable to cracking so no different to cat ecus from a failure point of view..

Do you mean the contacts of the ECU plugs? What did you clean them with, compressed air, or alcohol or something or just a brush?

From my Ferrari mechanic, Brady Orlando:

Yes the Cat temp ECU pins, I did also look at the contacts of the 2 plugs that plug into the cat ECU just making sure they weren't bent or anything. I believe I used alcohol to clean them, whatever works best to get down in there, brush etc. Is fine. Also I applied Corrosion X to the contacts which was probably a large contributing factor to its improved operation. Corrosion X is commercially available in a spray can and is designed to prevent electrical connections from corroding.

So I pulled the battery, 13v on the multimeter straight out of the car (driven yesterday, not charged afterwards).
A few seconds on the load tester showed 10v. Not terrible, but within the “weak” range on the load tester gauge.
Age of the battery not marked, Id guess at least 3 years.
It’s a pretty small battery. Carquest Gold, 580 cca.
Hard to say if that’s my problem. On another car it may not be. On a finicky older Ferrari, it may be.

10v ain’t too good. Even the good batts usually last about 2 years(as a DD) give or take and that’s not taking into account sound amps(which you don’t have) and additional camera drain during parking.
With all that you’ve said , I’m quite convinced at 90% it’s the batt. Get a new one and you’re home free [emoji23]

PS: this car is pretty sensitive from my experience. Might want to swap in the new batt earlier, lest poor starts do other little wrongs to the pumps or anything else more serious. My 2 cents.

Meanwhile , I would not drive the car hard, given it has far less than ideal cold starts.
And if you haven't already done so, set your car cam's parking "Event" sensitivity all to "Low".
