    Looks like a taxi accident. The view over the nose of the P-47 was pretty bad (very bad, according to my father). Hence zig zagging your way down a taxiway, often with a crew chief draped across the wing to give directions.

    Reminds me of the famous Israeli AF incident... F-15.

    Lots of aces ended up shot down and POWs from low level attacks on airfields. Even more dangerous for the P-51s than the P-47s. But they put the final touch on defeating Germany.

    KING OF THE STRAFERS. Eight 50,s are hard to beat. The Falaise Gap, many trains, and convoys suffered at the hands of the P-47 and P-38's.
