I purchased some replacement center caps. Any tricks to removing the old ones without removing the wheel. I tried flat head, butter knife, etc. But, didn’t have much luck.

You must remove the wheels in order to replace the center caps. There is no way to pry the old center caps out of the wheels without damaging the paint around the cap. I suppose you could drill a hole through the center of the old caps and use a slide hammer to pop them out without damaging the wheel, but then you are destroying the caps.

As above, if you don’t want the caps anymore, drill a hole in the cap, screw in a screw and pull out.

They original caps and pretty faded which is why I bought new ones. Will try the drill trick first.

Just take the wheel off and tap the cap out using a bit of wooden broom handle and a hammer

Of course if you want to make it really “authentic,” point the cavellino’s feet towards the valve stem...

Good lord, we would rather ruin a set of $100-200 center caps than just take the five minutes to take the wheel off? Just take the dang wheel off.

Is that really a thing? On Porsches, it’s tradition to orient the point of the shield at the valve stem, but I’ve never heard of the feet on Ferraris.

Mine were kind of ruined to begin with, that's why I went that route, quick & easy.

Plus also a good opportunity to clean the inside of the wheels from brake dust and clean the inside of the wheel wells.

Really though...why not just take the wheel off? do people not have tools? is this a Ferrari culture thing? what's with the laziness?

Faded caps are worthless. Smash em out with a screwdriver, who cares. Take the wheels off if you want to clean them, the calipers and arches properly. I would not take the wheels off to replace faded rubbish centre caps.

Gonna suggest something I’m sure everyone will frown on. $15 set of metal dome sticker caps. Many designs including carbon fiber look. If you stick it on smack center over your originals, it’s not ez to tell the difference , short of someone trying to pry them off thinking they are authentic. Cheers . Can give a pic if required
Lots and lots of designs which you can keep changing whenever you get bored , including HRE emblems.
Use the 56mm stickers for original caps.

It’s not the point....IMO there’s a right way to do every job.
