Looking for advise on getting to the Circuit. Am staying downtown Fri and Sat (near Peel and Sherbrooke), so on Sat I have general directions for taking public transport. Is that best or is Uber now an option? Sun will be heading south after the race and am wondering if there are options for parking/transport on that side. TIA

Also, am in GS12, are there different entrances or just hoof it from where ever?

Grandstand 12 is a great place to sit as long as you were closer to grandstand 11
That way you see the end of the straightaway start finish line as well as the first turn which gets a little crazy at the start of the race

Far as getting to the track it's very easy.
Stay downtown as well. Depending on where your staying I usually jump on the metro at peel Street station. I've never used any other means to get to the track but the majority of the people take the metro which I think is probably the easiest way
you're at the track from downtown in a matter of 15-20 minutes
    It's a well run system

Unfortunately grandstand 12 is probably the furthest
    Wear comfortable shoes !
No other way to get there but to walk it
if this is your first time in Montreal you are going to love it. trust me

Thanks. We are staying one block from the Peel Street station.

Last time in Montreal was 1970. Don't remember too much.

    ^ What he said.

Closest an Uber can get you is the end of either of the two bridges, shown on the left of the circuit on the map below, but you'll be at the mercy of traffic congestion and not worth it though I've never tried it because always used the Metro.

The bridge with red marker is the Concorde which I use regularly but avoid on GP weekend.

The Metro is the blue "M" square so, yes, long trek to grandstand 12 which is bottom right on the circuit map. You need to account for the time to get to your seat from the Metro, probably close to a half hour.

Stay downtown in the evenings and look for all the activities happening around Peel street and west from there on Cresent street.

On Sunday we will be leaving for home after the race. Is it possible to find parking near the end of the yellow line at Longueuil-Universite-de-Sherbrooke? Seems this would be easier getting south than going back into downtown.

    Hi,
I have couple of questions as well. It has been 8-9 years since my last Canadian GP.
    1) I remember there was a street where there used to be a Ferrari gathering- does this still takes place and what is the name of the street?
2)Last time I managed to take a picture with Alonso in front of the hotel where the team was staying- anyone knows where Ferrari and Mercedes are staying this year?
    3) Any info on the family tribune will be greatly appreciated ?
    4) I am driving back to US after the race, so I am looking for convenient parking and quick way out of the track.

    Thank you in advance!

Yep, much easier if you drive to the metro in Longueuil and park your car there before the race. No reason to go back to Montreal, that’s for sure.

I was told it's all complete and larger then life in person
I had to make a call last week for a ticket issue and the person I was talking to was at the circuit and confirmed this
He also told me all the construction is complete too as you exit the metro

The quickest way in and out of the circuit is by Metro or if you take an Uber they can drop you at the bridge and you can enter the circuit that way ... but its still a long walk no matter how you slice it. There may be some Ubers who have car access to the center of the track by the casino - for paddock club ... but not sure.

parking in Longueuil is the way to go - but the metro station parking is going to be packed. you may have a better time parking further away - uber to the station... and back.Traffic out of the station after the race - terrible.

I always stayed on the south shore so I always got to the track by Metro from the Longueuil station. Parking there was well organized but of course it helped if you got there early.

I never recall having a real problem exiting the lot after the race, but it helped that I usually sat in grandstand 15, which is one of the closest to the Metro station. Obviously if you have to hike from 12 it will take you longer to get to the Metro and you might find congestion at Longueuil. But once you exit the Metro lot you can get right on route 132, which connects with Autoroute 15 and takes you right to the U.S. border.

I second those who say that on Saturday after the racing activities, the place to go is Crescent Street, a walk of several blocks from the Guy-Concordia Metro station.

Yep , EARLY, is the key. Longueuil (Longale to Anglo Quebeckers ;)) should be easy to drive out of after the race no matter when you leave. I remember walking from section 12 to the Metro after Button’s victory, total misery with a flood at the station due to the downpour. TBH, I haven’t utilized the metro since then, always parked at the track behind 12 thereafter, but if the Mercs are ahead by a mile at the end (not a chance, this is Sweet 16’s Race ;)) , you’re going to see plenty of fans heading out 10-12 laps prior to the chequers to avoid the crowding at the station. Smart move actually, but I could never do it...;). Crescent was disco central in its heyday, and became the de rigeur party street during F1 through osmosis when it arrived in ‘78. Great place to visit during the F1 but there’s lots of stuff going on everywhere. I always pick up a copy of the Gazette/LaPresse as a ritual to see if I’ve missed anything I might want to attend.

Thanks all. Metro was good. Parking at Longueuil on Sun was the ticket.

GS11/12 are definitely a hike. Several choke points getting around the track at bridges and near the casino. Otherwise good.

Can’t believe some of the cars downtown. Personally would not take the chance. Saw one guy in a 918 Spider attempting to play “hold my beer, watch this”. Lots of people, food, and drink. Fun time all around (except for decision by stewards;) )

    Hi,
I parked in the old Montreal. Near St. James hotel and took a cab both days . About 15$ for the cab. It was 7 of us so it was totally worth it. . Happen to see Saturday night in a restaurant near Notre Damme , Ross Brawn and Stefano Domenicalli having dinner together. I wish I knew what they are planning..LOL

Right under the bridge. Cabs had a designated lane and spot to go to. After the qualifying and the race we took a cab from the same spot. The had some police officers well organized and even helped us cut the line because we had kids with us!!
