Hi all, I'm thinking about getting my first f car. I found this car at CNC motor in California https://www.cncexotics.com/details-2005-ferrari-f430-used-zffew58a150144700.html . Do you think it is priced right? The dealer have send me the service history. I know for sure I'll need to get a PPI for the car. Can anyone point me to the right direction? Thanks Danny
I don’t know. In my experience, CNC isn’t always super forthcoming, so I’d pay for a really thorough PPI (including compression check if everything else checks out) from a reputable source. I’d highly recommend giving Randy at RMT Motorsports a call and having the car delivered to him for the PPI.
Hi Danny, High Milage on these cars will hurt resale value this is a constant internal battle when owning one of these..that said I’m sure others would agree the engineering behind them is quite solid, strong engine and gearbox. The clutch is a wearable item and should be evaluated by a professional...service history is critical. The price is on the low end when comparing with others however most of those have up to 60k less miles.. That may be something to consider step up 25k and drive a low milage F430.. I have the exact same color combo 2007 MY and absolutely love it!! Good Luck with your search!
Would like to offer an alternative school of thought , though it could go either way. Consider a Low mileage car that’s ONLY used for track versus a high mileage car ONLY used as a DD to and fro work/home thru city traffic where you don’t have the space or traffic to drive the car hard. That being said , get it checked either way. My 2 cents. PS: I think the condition of a resale car depends a lot more on what type of previous owner it had, more than anything else. Constant wear and tear can result in less damage than burst wear. Arguably , you could do more damage to a car in one day of track use compared to one year of conservative DD driving. “Sharing is Caring...”
It might have high miles but remember there are always low miles engines from crashed cars available, so if you had engine problems you could drop a 2 nd hand one in it. Wear in suspension parts can mount up so beware
CNC gets a lot of nice inventory in, but their prices are higher than giraffe gentalia. If this is your first Ferrari and you are attempting to get into the game on the cheap, I'd have some money stashed away somewhere for the inevitable repair of wear items. Things like the aforementioned clutch, F1 system, E-diff, ball joints, and other things which commonly fail on these cars. You do realize for about the same price you can get into a ~20k mile 360 right?
