Image Unavailable, Please Login I stopped by the Ferrari store on Park Ave in NYC this week and it was closed. No signs saying they have moved, just a bunch of NYC construction permits posted on the door. Is this a recent development?

I think they are renovating the whole place.

I understand that they are converting the space to specialize in tailor made, and getting rid of the retail sales for clothing and accessories.

Great move, their fan-ware leaves a lot to be desired.

Also, I can imagine it'll be a phenomenal buyer's experience.

I would expect it to be open in time for the NY Auto Show press days.

Just a quick update on the Manhattan Ferrari store. I stopped by today and they had the lights on. Doors were locked and paper still on the windows but certainly showed signs of progress.

I have an atelier appointment for October, so hopefully they keep the teamsters happy and get the job done on time and under budget.

Visited the Park Ave NYC showroom today without an appointment. I smiled, stated I am a registered Ferrari owner and asked for a quick look. They were kind enough to walk me through the space. Spent about ten minutes looking and touching all the threads/leathers/carbon fiber samples. Plenty of cars to see but nothing I haven’t seen or driven in the real world. Walked out wondering why they built the showroom when a Ferrari client can go into a dealership and experience the same thing. Not likely I will return unless I receive an invite to a special event here. May be a bigger deal for someone who does not have my level of exposure to cars or is surrounded by Ferrari 4 dealerships so don’t let my comments stop you from going yourself.

From the photos, it doesn’t look any different than the way it was?

As an aside, we visited them in 2018. Sent them an e-mail identifying ourselves as owners (included the VIN #), and told them we wanted to come look at a car they had. We were treated like royalty, given a guided tour. They sent us follow-up emails and even shipped a little bag the wife wanted. All in all, a great experience.

It was redesigned to allow Tailor Made in the USA and the NYC showroom is the only place for the East Coast at least. Interestingly, I was speccing my Pista with Tri-color stripes which had to go through their shop for approval from Italy. I thought kinda of odd since my dealer put in the request to Extra-companario for approval but he said it now has to go from Tailor made-NYC. Here is what I was speccing

I think they could have come up with a more interesting term than "tailor made" if this is supposed to be part of their bespoke process.

I used to really enjoy visiting this showroom during my NYC day trips, but on the last few occasions the staff made me feel very unwelcome and essentially rushed me out of the door.

I love what they did with the space since the recent renovation, but I'm in no hurry to pay them another visit.
