Hmmm....that looks interesting. I wonder how you would install something like that. I had an automatic extinguisher in my car, but it went off due to the heat of the engine, scared the everloving **** out of me when it happened just driving down the road...

Just a personal practice here...NEVER fill the fuel tank in anything until it is completely full. Maybe that comes from living in hot climates most of my life. Lets remember 3 things, gasoline expands and vaporizes more easily in hot conditions, such things are gaskets etc usually loose effectiveness with age and...the engine compartments can get extremely hot (which can prematurely age some items) especially if the headers and muffler have been replaced and are no longer insulated.

Update: The insurance settled with me for $107,000. They said they included (probably a percentage of) my aftermarket items. I had a Novitec muffler, tips, cats and Fabspeed headers with heat blankets. Capristo mounts. A lot of carbon fiber in the passenger compartment. Carbon fiber air boxes. Front bumper skid plates that I made and that turned out quite well (Anyone want to buy the spares I still have?). Eurohorns. Paint protective film. A new battery. Weathertech floormats. The cool nylon straps and metal buckles to hold the compressor and toolkit in the boot (the OEM leather straps broke). And of course the new right side fuel pump; it only has 4 miles on it!!). And the car only had 10710 miles on it (I had it for 3147 of those miles). Only filled it up 11 times (not counting the last time that I siphoned out). Oh, the humanity!!

Thanks for the condolences and the support.

Get an "agreed value" policy next time. The legal advisor on Sport Car Market magazine repeatedly recommends that policy to avoid fighting over a fair valuation.
