    Stroll update:

AMuS reports that Lance Stroll's engine fire was not caused by a hydraulic leak, but it was in fact B spec engine failure.

There will be an engine change to Stroll. They go back to old unit engine used last 6 races.

I'm cautiously optimistic for some reason. It might be the delusions manifesting, but the red cars look good...

    Heads-up gents

AMuS - Mario Isola explains the circumstances under which tyres modification can be made after some team have called for the thicker tread tyres: "Either 70 percent of all teams have to ask for it, or the FIA, or we need to feel there's a security risk that needs a change."

So there were security risks as Pirelli feared the tires might burst?
Did really 70% of the teams ask for it? It does not sound like Horner did... and I doubt Ferrari did.

    Hypothetical:

Strolls engine failure data has given MB a reason to run all the MB engined cars..."efficiently" during qualifying and race.

It could also be during installation.

No confirmation YET as to what failed in the engine.

Yeah, I don't remember the other teams asking for the tires.

History has shown that the MB W0X's variants would "cook" their tires....then it got sorted out during said seasons.

2019 and MB has no issues with tires. It's concerning to say the least.

2019 will be the year of the "TIRES"

Interesting. 10 teams. 7 of which do not use a Mercedes engine (we all know that Williams and Force Stroll do whatever their Mercedes lords ask them to do). Is that 70% enough? Or does it need to be 70.01%?

This is one of hte problems with a spec tyre. It's equal, right until a team with massive influence tells them to change it to a differt tyre, that suits them a lot more.

Suddenly not so equal, is it.
