Wow! Awesome Phil. Looks amazing. Congrats. What an incredible color on a 930 with no sunroof!

That is definitely a benefit of the higher values, these cars make more sense as restoration candidates. Happy to see them being restored properly.

Did all Jap spec cars have the orange park light/extended indicator in the bumper?

Yes, Japanese market front bumper parking lights were same as U.S. spec.

Another look at Japanese Turbo w/ plate 31-01 https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/146384089/ reveals that this may actually be a RoW 1975 Turbo that was exported to Japan. First, no 1975 or 1976 guards red Turbos were delivered to Japan. Second, this 3-liter Turbo (appeared in several 1970s Japanese posters) does appear to be a 1975 Turbo based on the absence of the Porsche crest on the spoiler, acorn nuts on the wiper blades, and lack of shark fins. Something I had not noticed before is the shadow of a standard 1975 model year mirror mounting plate visible after the Japan-style manual mirror was mounted.

So perhaps this is not ’75 chassis # 9305700051 but a guards red ’75 Turbo exported to Japan. Very interesting that it still retained the windshield decal even after it was registered with a Japanese plate 31-01.

Interesting...mine is a Jap spec but somewhere along the line changed to the normal ROW look.
Did they also have the US spec lights fitted?
I know they came with a different radio.
Any other differences that you are aware off?

Well, you cannot use left hand drive headlights on right hand drive roads... beam pattern is backwards.
Those do not look like sealed beam, if that's what you're asking, although they are 'sugar scoops'.

Perhaps I should rephrase...did all jap spec cars come with the sugar scoop headlights? 75-77 models?
The discussions on the pages below seem to indicate yes?

Yes, Japanese market cars were left hand drive but had U.S. sealed beam headlights for RHD markets w/ sugar scoops (ref. Ryan's book, page 185).

BAT 1977 Turbo Carrera has an interesting interior where the leather was changed from factory delivery. A 1977 interior code of 93 would have had the dash pad, side window sills, door tops, and top of rear deck in brown leather. I believe this example had those portions re-dyed black. In the driver’s door top photo, you can see the brown leather below the black dye. I really like the two-tone interior on this example but according the 1977 Porsche Audi dealer fact book, this would require an interior to sample order.

Interesting link for owners to register their rare Porsches.
The nice part is the it provides the build spec for the car...even the radio it was supplied with.

The copper metallic car was amazing full restore all stock panels and the early seams on the fenders, Car a new car with stock panels carpets and all part, but hade just like 100,000 km before the restore and they hade restore books printed very cool,
The Silver was a nice driver car some love and it will very nice, but you could not comper with Copper and Turbo 55, just that it is 55 car of all Turbo is cool when 1975 was the first year, will probably sell on the VIN number or all car with VIN under 100 are special

Nice walk around portion in this ’76 Turbo Carrera video. Symbolic still needs to install a 1976 dash pad - no doubt the most difficult of all 1970s dash pads to find.
