Maybe Ferrari should not present the cars a couple of races as a protest

    Excuses that don't work:

    - "What was i supposed to do? If i had stayed on the inside, he would have passed me!"
    - "Everyone knows that you don't have control after you've been on the grass!"

Vettel really, REALLY needs to acknowledge that this was HIS error: HE lost control, HE put all four wheels in the grass. He's not "entitled" to join in any manner he wishes, with no consideration for other cars, just because he won the pole yesterday. He may not like the decision, but you can't have something "stolen" from you that you gave away.

Maybe without public protest. But protest behind closed doors is fully warranted.

If so I apologize for not knowing the rule better. I hardly read the F1 section and didn’t know « spoilers » had to be put in title.

Exactly, and there are proper channels to do that within the FIA.

Please this is sport , not a jurist argument.
We have been stolen a real fight between two top drivers the last ten laps.
Maybe the common secret target shared by mercedes and the FIA/PIRELLI is to win all the 2019 races?

    Ok, I’ll try.

Please dear sir, restrict your political comments to the P&R section. This isn’t Facebook. Thank you in advance.

    Better?

Valid, logical arguments apply to sporting events too.

I've been following F-1 since early 70's... I cant remember any other race that was literally stolen away from the driver like today. regardless of the team.

if this had happened in 1985 - people would have said wow what a close call.... great win. There are simply too many rules in F-1 - and I think it reflects society's helicopter parent style... or maybe because I'm older than the drivers now I see it differently? Only other situation that the driver was robbed was Prost at Suzuka in 1990 - Senna should have been given a penalty. .... this was a crazy stupid decision. I hope Ferrari appeals, and wins but its just diminished the sport further for me.... There is more excitement in watching on line video I racing races than F-1.

Nonsense, loved the emotion. Finally some emotion at Ferarri. The mechanics loved it as well.

FIA should let the racing be the racing as much as possible.

If Ham was faster he should've overtaken Vet. But he ddn't exploit Vet's mistake, too bad.

The penalty was as you said, overly harsh

Seb made a mistake. He drove to the left of the kerbs. Without that mistake, we have nothing to discuss here.

After the race, Seb made an ass out of himself by stopping his car in an improper place, acting like a child on the podium, acting like a child during the interview, and generally throwing a temper tantrum.

Professionals don't act like that. They don't ruin the ceremonies for the fans, sponsors, teams and other drivers. They don't ignore the man whose job it is to interview them. It was pitiful.

Kid Index had a temper tantrum

    Multi 21 Seb, Multi 21.

The rules don't apply to Seb--at least in his own mind.

Agree 100%. Here's what Vettel did today, that is beyond dispute:

    - he lost control of his car
    - he put all 4 tires on the grass
    - he re-joined in a car out-of-control

But yet ... Vettel dismisses ALL of this, as totally irrelevant  Why? Because none of this matters, when you're in the front of the pack?

    "I won! I was robbed!"

    Pathetic.

I can. Ironically Spa in 08.

I am not a Ferrari F1 fan. But I thought it was a terrible decision.

For those of you talking about all the options Vettel had/could have done differently... wow... and I’m NOT a Vettel fan. But I didn’t think he did a thing wrong.

by the way, in response to the title of this thread ...

No one "deserves" a win. NO ONE.

Even the pole-sitter must EARN the win, every second of the race.

Today, Vettel LOST it, all by himself. Nobody took it from him.

So, Here's what Lewis did today, that is beyond dispute:
    - he put pressure on Seb
    - when Seb made a mistake he went for the pass
    - Seb rejoined out of control and Lewis braked hard to avoid a crash
    - Lewis took the win that the Stewards awarded to him
Question, what did Lewis do wrong today? (PS - Twice, once in the car, and once he took off his helmet he said "I did not want to win this way")

No, Lewis should've passed Vettel when he lost control of his car, put all 4 tires on the grass, re-joined in a car out-of-control

    But he didn't.

    Pathetic. Vettel won.

Only in Vettel's mind, does failure to take responsibility for losing control entitle him to a win.
