Hello together, I searched the 'sticky' thread, but it became tedious. I would like to replace my brake servo hose soon. I cannot notice any leaks, but it looks quite tired. What stuff did you use, if you replaced that hose? Even the best hydraulic hoses with the needed ID are significantly cheaper than what we can get from the usual suspects. When I replaced the long heater hose on the same side, I used hydraulic hose also suitable for hot water/coolant. I think about using the same stuff for the servo hose. It's quite stiff, so I don't worry about collapsing. What do you think resp. what did you use? BTW. On my car it was possible to replace the heater hose without removal of the tank. Hey Martin on the Gt4 I used gates green stripe for heater hose and some ridiculous super stiff booster hose from superformance
I bought mine from either Dinoparts or Superformance. This is a hose I did not want to experiment on. All other hoses I buy locally at a store for excavators, forrest machinery etc. Vehicles that are not allowed to stop working. /Peter
Thanks. Hmmm... too expensive I buy all my hoses from my industry supplier, except if they are moulded parts of course. Does anyone know the max. vacuum value with the engine running at idle? I have found industrial vacuum hose, which stands -0.8bar or even -0.95 bar. At a fraction of the costs of SF or especially DP. I have replaced the short piece once which goes from the check valve to the manifold under the rear left carb. I used simple, stiff high-pressure hydraulic hose and it worked. But this piece is easy to examine. For the long piece I will do some more research. Best Martin
I thought that. But just out of curiosity I would like to know where we are regarding vacuum values. I have a vacuum manometer. Maybe I will make a T-fitting and determine it. Best Martin
Hi Martin, Yes, it wouldn't hurt knowing the manifold vacuum at idle, but consider that with the 308 compression ratio around 8:1, the highest possible cylinder pressure would be about 20 times the manifold pressure. From that I would suspect that you something in the range of -.5 to -.7 bar, just guessing.
