When you look at way the wide stripe kills the car why would you unless you wanted to retain an easy recognition for those owners in the Ferrari community. The only issue with the appearance of the spider is the wide stripe and soft looking wheels so it doesnt surprise me plenty have abandoned those items in favor for the true pista look....which is by far superior. For me it would be a no brainer....but each to their own.
I agree the wheels are not the best design and I would happily swap them for the coupe wheels - however there are no other options. I left mine in the standard colour but I think I will be painting them black. I think the wide stripe is bolder and as a result you need to careful on the colour choice of both the stripe and the car.
I was offered a Pista Spider. It was a tough decision but I chose the coupe because I preferred its rear half body design, visible engine, stripe, and wheels. I like the standard Pista coupe wheels so much that I also skipped the CF wheels despite their dynamic superiority. I figured I could always secure a set of CF wheels later but now I’m not so sure! My first Ferrari was a gated manual F430 coupe, and I still regret selling that car. With the Pista coupe, I get the visible engine again, and it’s a beauty IMO. Given how low the SF90 engine sits in its bay, the Pista may the last of the breed where it’s even worth showing the engine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Agree with you Bundy. The Pista coupe is by far the better and more purposeful looking package. The spider, sf90 are getting softer and less purposeful looking by the model. Clearly appealing to a different audience seeking mainly the exclusivity which is obviously where the market has shifted to now.
I love the coupe and I am a coupe guy. I struggled with the decision as well... I hope I made the right call. I will be seeing my car in about 10 days so I hope I love it..
I actually think that's the case when the roof is down... but when the roof is up it's almost impossible to tell the difference. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I may be the odd man out on the wheels. I really like the spider wheels. They are like a modern interpretation of the 308/328/288/F40 wheels. Lots of Ferrari DNA there.

You’re not alone even though my opinion doesn’t matter much since I don’t own a Pista. IMO Ferrari hit it out of the park with those wheels, especially compared to the coupe and Tributo options for their other new mid V8 offerings I’d also say I hope you retain the wide stripe on the spider and make it work, love the little bits that are unique to each car especially for the most limited variant of the 488. But ultimately only opinion that matters is your own of course! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This is the Pista with the wanna be Pilota wrap. shame cause its a great car on its own. Doesnt need to pretend to be a Pilota. I believe the owner is a member here. Hopefully he doesnt take my comment as insulting.
