The gears, shafts, synchros? Are they the same, or different on a 328 gearbox?

What exactly, is the model number of the 308 ZF trans?

I believe the 328 transfer case uses thicker gears and a deeper case cover than a 308, but 328 case cover and gears will fit into/onto a 308 bell housing? is that correct?

    Thanks,
    Doug

I don't know the exact answer to these questions, but the gear ratios are dfferent vaying from model and markets: see table E7 in the WSM at the bottom of the page in this link:
    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/1979-ferrari-308-gearbox-issue.561938/page-3

I understand from the discussion in the above mentioned thread that 328s gear boxes have, at minimum, an internal oil pump that 308 gear boxes do not have.

    Gearboxes are referenced:
    F106AB for 308s"euro"
    F106AL for 308 US
    F106MB for 328 "euro"
    F108/40 for 328 RoW.

Guts are similar, 308/328 & mondial. Differences are, gear ratios and for the mondial and later qv/328 internal gear pump.
Drop gears and clutch & input shaft changed over the yrs, later yrs have updated housings with additional bearing supports, but the gearbox cases themselves are the same. Changes to castings are the bellhousings and drop gear case.
