The F8 obviously does not exist, but I guess it's safe to bet it will be very similar to the 488 - more power, less weight, refined electronics and that's it.
From the 458 to 488 to Pista or F8, there are only incremental improvements, no dramatic change - even with the different character of a turbo engine vs a NA engine, the 488 is very similar to the 458 (the most noticeable change is the engine character indeed, all other improvements about weight savings and electronics are not spectacular).

That is precisely my trepidation about the F8. I have little doubt that it will represent an incremental enhancement over the 488 in terms of speed, precision and many other objective performance metrics. My salient concern is whether that will translate into a more compelling and engaging ride. Will the driving dynamics provide a heightened sense of excitement and elevation of car - driver connection? I sincerely hope so.

Super cars at this exalted level of excellence defy comparisons predicated upon a check list of attributes, a la Doug DeMuro. There are a plethora of intangible qualities that simply cannot be quantified and it is within this realm where these cars are primarily distinguished and differentiated.

Lets face it, most of these cars are just driven around town with some spirited driving here and there. Perhaps a few track days every year. "Most" want the total package. Cars like the 488, F8 & 720 have the amenities, comfort and all round sportiness to meet this demand. There will be very few hardcore models. Even the perf has all of the creature comforts but happens to have aggressive looks and race car sounds. It is coming to the point where you will have to build your own raw car or buy something older like a CS or Scud. Perhaps the closest thing out there today is the GT3RS.

I found for the the Perf has it all. Whereas the 488 is a bit boring and lacking drama.

    +1.

Love my HP but I would give it up for a Pista.

As much as I love the Pista, and as hard as I pursued acquiring one, if I was forced between choosing a Pista over my HP, I would respectfully decline. The howling NA V10 is way too much madness to ever consider giving up.

I’ll be able to test both and decide which to keep.

Yes, you can't beat the NA V10 but I feel like the Pista is more refined compared to the HP.

Driving the Perf S to BigSur...can’t wait. Drama below the speed limit is a wonderful thing to behold.

That’s precisely why I would prefer the Performante.

True enough. And that’s terrific if refined is your thing. But if unrefined is your thing, like it is mine, then the HP is better.

Beat me to it......I spoke to the dealer about it and was about to purchase when they informed me it was sold in less than 24 hours of making me aware of it.
