Fiorano Handling Package (F355)

They look nice and beefe!

 

It is standard uniballs with a neoprene dustcover. The dust cover is made by a company called RODOBAL. I got the center part and special bolts made by a local machine shop, didnt cost very much.

I've done the Challenge bars, Challenge adjustable links, Challenge steering and pump, Challenge wheels,and Moton triple adjustable shocks and lowered.
F355 is a good handling car stock. Motons really was a large improvement and did not make a harsher ride. I kept stock springs. I think car might be under sprung in front so will try stiffening front by adj shock.
Much better handling than when it was stock. No comparison. If you are asking if it is worth it, it is.

 

Bob, which of those changes would you say made the most difference? I've heard and read, that shocks and sway bars are the most noticeable.

Yuuuup thats the way to go penske also. I doubt I would put a ferrari shock in at my service time

 

Ya considered Penske also, Bradan had a Penske setup available a while back, but when I reached out.. They never got back to me

 

Best choice would be the shock tuner with the best support. I have niot gone down that road so "I know nothing"

 

I had Penske on a Viper Coupe and were great. I've had my Motons on the 355 for 13 years and 50,000 miles some were track miles. I checked the canister gas pressure a month ago and was 160lbs same as when I installed them 13 years ago. Any of the shocks you named would be great. Addding 10lbs of can pressure is like increasing spring pressure 30lbs so in spring going to increase front pressure because I think stock front springs seem light.The Motons bolted right up. They also make a club version that does not have as much adj as the triples.

The only issue with Deltavee is you've gotta send in your shocks...but 3200$ is a good price.

 

But the shocks are coming off anyway. Tell Rob how you drive and he'll revalve your shocks accordingly. With the new springs, you'll have a nice sport package good for the street and the track.

I sent him my shocks a few years ago to be rebuilt. He took the time to discuss with me the type of HPDE driving I do. My Challenge car handled so much better after the rebuild.

Yes he did the black 355. I may do an upgrade on it this spring to the next level. There is room to improve

bump for more information and/or confirmation of componentry of the Fiorano Handling Package. If only to consolidate it all in one post??

Our '97 Spider has the red calipers, the drilled rotors, as well as the red swaybar frame bushings, so I am fairly confident that it is equipped with the FHP.

Does the FHP essentially add all of this:
- larger front and rear swaybars (from the Challenge cars)
- firmer swaybar bushings
- drilled rotors with red painted calipers
- harder brake pad material
- different power steering pump and quicker steering rack
- different suspension ECU tuning
- firmer springs

Anyone know what this added to the bottom line of the 355 when new?

From my research, it appears that the FHP was either port- or dealer-installed, correct?

I am always trying to learn everything I can about our car, this is an interesting and new chapter in it's history for me. Even the selling dealer had no idea about it...

Yeah. They're expensive. I'm glad someone installed them on my car years ago. But they were a part of many suspension upgrades given the Challenge cars for the track.

I think that Delta Vee's F355 Sport Suspension I linked to in post #65 is the best way to go for road-going cars. The Sport Suspension, as Rob Schermerhorn describes it, is "inspired by Ferrari's Fiorano Handling Package." It will help the car on track days too.

 

I agree. Rob’s road going package should be pretty good.
