CF in areas where they replace plastic, is merely cosmetic and involves zero weight saving.

While you are spending tens of thousands on CF, save $ by omitting the shields for weight saving purposes. Also before driving, make sure you shave, cut your hair and nails. Also important is to wear little or no clothing.
Well some of us still like carbon fiber in certain applications. Do i have to justify that? Nope. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I saw in a different thread that Ferrari introduced a racing package for the F8 does anyone know anything about this package...??
Actually the name in the french list price is "Pack performance", with the code RACE (just like the Ferrari share) and an ex-VAT price of EUR 6500 (7800 with 20% VAT). I'll meet my dealer ten days from now to refine my F8 order and will ask details then, but hopefully there will be some info here in the mean time.
Agree with this. Carbon Fiber is part of the whole Ferrari look for me and most others who stop to admire the art....not plastic everywhere. Whether CF saves enough weight to make a discernible difference or, doesn't return upon resale is not the point for many who choose it. At least the car looks both the goods and the money while you own it. That's my take on it anyway. They charge so much for it because they know the car looks cheap and under done otherwise.
When I configured my F8 I was inspired by the exterior carbon Fiber accent of my Scuderia. If you are going to spend 300 thousand U.S on the car.....an extra 30 thousand of carbon in my opinion is cost-constructive. Plastic accents make the car look too convencional. I will be in Milan next week and arranging to see a display Model. I will have time to change the configuration if it’s not a fit.
Carbon fiber is personal taste. We have zero in our 812 and it looks very elegant. It will be different for the F8 Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
That's the way I see it , my 488 GTB has zero carbon fibre. Don't like it . Interesting though how many cars ive seen that have the standard rear view mirror ( looks like from a 1985 Toyota corolla ) and by far the worse standard roof lining, ( not leather ) , looks and feels like a scouring pad yet has lots of carbon.
Dropped off my 488 GTB for its first scheduled service on the week end. Spoke to my sales rep and he had time to play with the configurator. They are still waiting on the full price list for the extras from Ferrari but unlike other markets the 488 GTB came standard with full electric seats where as now they are optional. So for us 13 k extra. but the F8 only went up 3 % about 13 k for us. The other down side is our state on 1st July adds another addition state luxury tax 9%. With the same extras as the 488GTB it comes in at an increase of 35 K from 580 k to 615 k. Other states of Australia it will be cheaper as they don't have the addition luxury tax. We get to see it in person around September for the official preview. Im attending.
Didn’t realize you were talking about your dealers Personal viewing. Thought it was a public event. Yes my salesmen is saying probably October for us, but would like to see the car sooner if I can.
This event is like most new models events I’ve been to. By invitation/RSVP, and with a vetted guest list at the door. Sometimes the event is at a dealers showroom while other times it is at a special venue. But after the event, the F8 will probably be making a tour at showrooms in LA and after that at regional showrooms where the public can walk-in and check out the F8
