2019 24 Hours of LeMans

That 88 Porsche has been in quite a few incidents today

 

GTE Pro is the only thing worth watching in this year's 24 Hours. I just wish BMW was competitive...

 

Well, less odds of pit fratricide now (Rolex 24).

 

I wish they would show a little bit of GTE AM though.

 

Ford GT will win that class without issue just based on what I see the leaderboard shows, but you're right I have no clue what's going on otherwise.

The battle for second in GTE Pro is awesome. Three cars within 1 second after 8 hours of racing...holy cow.

 

Random question, in IMSA all the cars run a bunch of colored neon so that you can tell the cars apart from a distance at night. Aside from the Ford's, I don't see many cars at Le Mans with the neons. Why is that? I would think it would be MORE important there given how dark it is.

I don't understand why so many people are upset over this. Fassler tried a low percentage pass in a high speed corner on an AM who by that point was known to be in over his head. overtaking driver has the responsibility of making a clean pass. I put the vast majority of the blame on Fassler.

 

Agreed he was at fault, but I also hate how many fines and penalties are given these days. It was a poor decision, but I put it as a racing incident.

 

But what sort of racing is that when the professional has to think for the amateur as well and he basically should always.keep in consideration that the amateur might screw up... apparently the Japanese (?) Is so rattled that he refuses to drive anymore... maybe he should do dart or billiards instead of racing in the toughest race in the world. Racing to a certain degree means that you have to rely on each other, obviously this is not possible and the reason for most accidents.

I agree. his penalty is crashing out of the biggest race of the year, leave it there.

IMO that Japanese driver needs to have his FIA license revoked. I've never seen a driver be involved in 3 incidents in one stint, then quit mid race. no business being there.

 

Going to be a rather difficult night.

 

Yea the #7 windshield looks terrible like oil but I don't know why I would be spraying it like that. Maybe by design James Bond style to make others not catch up.
