Wes, it’s definitely a spark plug socket. It fits the plug nicely and does a good job of getting it out. It’s just that it sticks to the plug better than it sticks to the extension I bought! I couldn’t view the pic of yours in the link you posted, unfortunately. Pap, that looks like a great gadget and would have been perfect today. I think I’ll grab one of those.
Yep, worth their weight in gold mate. Even if the engine is red hot, you can use that tool and avoid getting burnt hands while trying to screw plugs in and out. And it will last forever with the amount of times you will use it. I've had mine for 20 years and have changed over a thousand spark plugs in that time I reckon. I have an NGK one, not sure if they still make them and not sure if they are of the same quality either. But either way, they are cheap enough to keep buying every 20 years or so lol.
All of this ^^^+ 365 plus isn't there the sometimes problem of moisture (we call it rain up here) getting into the plug area, particularly when you open the engine lid? It was on the 308.
I might grab one of those Papster..It is an awesome idea....I feel Steves pain as it's happened to me as well....It's so frustrating when the rubber O ring grabs the plug so hard that when you pull it just removes the extension piece at the hex joint of the socket....
....or you're both using crap tools with crapily sprung ball bearings... Pap's tool is a beat though......erm I hope that's going to be taken in the correct context.
I was thinking Avon = PP, then I realised Avon was at least a bit funny and likeable, so that was the end of that theory
