When doing a rebuild on any Ferrari engine from 250 to very late engines with 25 mm cam journals you will see bright spots on the cam bores. This is especially common on all early engines through 330 and late engines that may have overheated. Ferrari head castings have some dimensional stability problems. Every head I've ever done (maybe 200 heads) I have passed a reamer through the cam bores. My reamer is in perfect condition and has never been nicked, chipped, or even laid on a metal topped work bench.
