Music to my ears. You get far more enjoyment out of the car when not worried too much about the value.

Nice to see someone modify a car (regardless of value) that suits their personal wants. I would have a hard time leaving it in stock form too, as long as it could easily be returned back to stock (or close to it). IMO the fuel bladder upgrade should be a plus and not a minus. Enjoy it in good health!

I imagine with that many for sale on the open market on just one website, its still a case that a genuine buyer simply needs to make themselves known and sellers will come to them.

When it drops down to a handful on the market then that situation usually turns regardless of the type of car and the F40s will then become $2 million dollar plus cars.

    Probably a while yet.

There will be plenty available at the various auctions held during the upcoming Monterey car week.

Let me make a couple of comments about the topic of modified F40s based on my not inconsiderable experience, I track this subject quite closely.

There are far more unmodified F40s than modified ones, and the notion that unmodified F40s are not driven is not correct, by sheer numbers, more unmodified F40s are driven than modified ones, in fact, let me put it another way, just because an F40 is modified does not mean it is regularly driven.

Despite their assertions that it can easily be done, the only time the people who mod an F40 return it to stock is, never, they leave that for the next owner to do.

Modifications can adversely affect the value of an F40.

There are some F40s available in the USA.

    Correct.

Perhaps, but I'm confident you'll never do that to your F40.

It was at Cavallino this year, I'm not sure it won any awards, but let me check.

    That sounds like a plan.

Then use it as a track & rally car to within an inch of it's life, then send it back to Maranello for Ferrari SpA to restore it back to it's former Rosso glory.

Well, over 1000 f40s produced, so the values will eventually go up as they get rarer. I'd give it like 20-50 years, but the Ferraris that seemed to hold the most value were the ones that had very limited production.

Now the F40 Competizione or the f40 gt...;)
