The master cylinder came out today, what a cant of a job! Access is ridiculously tight. The “after” pic shows the securing bolt on the left which was impossible to get to with a normal spanner. After much head scratching over the course of a week or so, I found this socket wrench with an adjustable head online. It required a bit of a modification with an angle grinder and worked a treat I am however already dreading putting the new master in In the meantime time I’ve been spraying Loctite freeze and release on my recalcitrant nut in the hope Ian can twist my nut off tomorrow Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Which bit are you having an issue with...if it's putting the/a nut back on,try sticking a whole lot of bluetac into the socket, push the nut into it enuff so it has good grip but leaving you enuff for the nut to bite onto the captive bolt and giving it curry from there.
It’s the maze of fixed pipes that I have to wiggle the master cylinder back through. Lots of cursing required
Oh ok,how about one of those long spring loaded 3 prongy things,I'm going to my shed shortly (about 3 klms away),I'll take a snap of it.
Here.4 prong. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
lol, no. That spanner won’t fit. The tool I “made” will get the nut back on no problem. It’s putting the actual master back in that’s tricky, lots of angles to negotiate That prong thingy would be good for turning prawns
