So the drivers worked this out and the world ends?? Max is quite open about issues like this yet here is ok and we think conspiracy?? No. This is a fair ruling it appears. The drivers know better together than us
Last year Vettel molested Sainz and he later said that it didn't matter, no big issue, etc... Yet Vettel got a penalty anyway, no matter if the other driver agreed or not. That's only one case, there are others. Again, the rules depend on the direction of the wind, the position of the stars and the viscera of animals, but nobody can find a pattern.
The entire sport has this history. We should not be surprised. Today they were allowed to work it out.
Maybe the stewards should only be observers, and intervene only in case of serious contact or accident, not for racing incidents. Unfortunately, clipping someone's front wing, puncturing a tyre, banging wheels, blocking, etc ... are more and more accepted as normal behaviour these days. The stewards are too pro-active probably, and penalise when nothing happened, which is hard to understand. The drivers should be able to sort their problems themselves; the GPDA could deal with that. Adding time penalties at the end of a race spoils the result and really frustrates the public. For some infringements, I would go along with a grid penalty for the next race instead, in exceptional cases. Perhaps a permanent college of stewards attending ALL the GPs would be better than a new group at each race.
Pirro went overboard against Ferrari to avoid the familiar cat calls his stewardship was questionable due to his strong ties to the Scuderia. He obviously succumbed to the fear of opening an old wound regarding his vaunted role as lead steward rather than making the call based on what he knew was correct. The other lackeys involved are merely window dressing for FIA, it was Pirro who made the call. https://www.motor1.com/news/24770/fia-steward-pirro-hits-back-at-ferrari-bias-claims/
I just hate these courses that look like they were painted on a giant Ikea parking lot. It is gymkhana/autocross for big boys.
His Mother is also even richer than Papa.Talk about cashed up.Another Playstation boy wonder incoming.
F1 is a farce, rapidly becoming a full blown comedy, with rules written for the benefit of the invested players, and stewards in the pocket of Mercedes, willing to bend the rules to their absolute maximum to avoid penalising merc, while ensuring no other team gets anywhere near a true racing challenge. Wonder what would happen if he did it during qualy or the race, but rather than a switched on guy like Max, it’s a donut like grosjean or stroll, and they smash straight through Elton, injuring themselves and destroying both cars in the process, bringing a red flag down for the entire session - my guess....... Elton gets a medal for bravery, the driver he impedes, while fighting for his life in an ambulance, is advised the stewards have given him a 25 second penalty at the next race he is able to race in, with ten points on his superlicence, and has to clean Elton’s dog’s **** up around the paddock for the rest of the season, with a further 5 ten seconds penalties suspended to be a actioned if he dares suggest Elton was at fault
Interesting Honda will use a "new" turbo and MGUH for Kvyat. They will be the same units but they have broken the seals, so they are new to FIA numbers. Reason is that the next new units will be penalized with 5 places and not 10. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ferrari have opted to do away with their new floor and diffuser and opted to keep the new front wing configuration and rear wing
