Cayman more daily driver. Taller and easier to get in an out of. Much better creature comforts. Much more practical and more storage space.

The 4c is more raw and more communicative. I really like how you can feel the front tires fighting you in the turns. That’s something we lost in the 80’s. It’s really light so you can push it in the corners.

The 4c is more spirts car. The Porsche more GT.

The hideous Alfa grill is one of the greatest car design blunders of all time. What 1st grade art class dropout car designer thought "oh hey, you know the stupidly ugly horseshoe planted on the front of a Bugatti like a massive black mole right in the center of a model's forehead? I wonder we can do even worse with a weird triangle for no apparent reason right in the middle of our car's stupid grill! Uglissimo!"

That being said I'd love a car like the 4C if it weren't so ugly, had more than 4 cylinders, came in manual, and was naturally aspirated.

Yes I get what you are on about with the 4c being a little more toy like on the street, not a bad thing. I think the 4c might get a little more serious when it comes to track driving, and I might be more comfortable pushing it versus an older Ferrari. I know you can always get a Corvette or similar if your goal is to save money. I just think the 4c and 360 are both special cars from special marquees so I guess it boils down to preference. Still going back and forth myself. The Selection of Ferraris is very limited in Louisville KY or I would have been on my second or third by now.

I agree that the 4c is more like the Cayman / Boxster than a 360. My point in comparing the 4c to the 360 is that they are both unique Italian sports cars with the 4c as a now cheaper and newer option. I am on Porsche number 4 and they are great, but perhaps too practical. I need something more dramatic. It is great that my 2011 Boxster has never had anything actually repaired, just maintenance, at about $250 a year plus the consumables like brakes and tires. If there were more Ferraris where I lived, I would go that route.

If it’s any help I’ve missed my 4C ever since I sold it and am contemplating replacing the 430 with it.

I might be out of Point here, but do you like women and chicks ? They are gonna absolutely hate the 4c period heh.
My 2 cents. Is that worth the 20k? You decide
My gf ******* about getting in and out of my 430 , the 4c has that same entry exit angle PLUS a clearance bar. It’s like having a kerb in the car cabin. Heh

The 4c will be a really fun weekend track car, but for daily driving , pick the 360 for general well-being of sanity.

Well, I am married so I don’t have my hunting license any more ;) Although my wife has indeed brought up the frame rail as an issue, and she has not even rode in the 4c yet. I am leaning towards the 360, but the 4c looks like a lot of fun and less worry about things like parking downtown and pushing hard on track, while costing less to boot. Hard to find Ferraris in KY.

I can see that. Having not owned a Ferrari yet, I feel that is something I need to experience. Afterwards, the 4c sounds like a great option to have something special without eliciting the unwanted attention and higher maintenance costs.

By the way, I know I could have gone with the 4c versus the F430 or 458, and maybe the more modern cars would be a better comparison. I went with the 360 comparison because the price point is closer between these, and because the 360 is what I am looking at myself.

Yea, now that I get a clearer picture , it’s gonna be a tough choice. With less Ferraris there, it’s gonna mean less specialised garages in your locale as well, this will up your maintenance costs too. ( on top of the fact that baseline Ferrari parts would already cost more than the 4c piece vs piece.)
    Hmmm.
Now I’m not so sure there’s a clear winner.
I’ve driven a friend’s 4c for a bit whilst he was out of town, this might come down to the individual , but I’ll confess after the novelty of the car being crazy light, fast on acceleration, responsive and nimble like a go-kart, wore off( which it did pretty quickly for me), it was a pain to drive lol.
I hope you make the best choice for yourself heh, 40k is nothing to scoff at and i would hate to see you make a decision you live to regret 2-3 mths in.
    Cheers!
PS: i just recalled one more crucial factor. Why dont we let your wife decide? Tell her about the basically non-adjustable seats. heh.

I had a 4C Spider for about four months. I also own a 355. The 4C is amazing machine but really suited to twisty B roads; lots of motorway driving or possibly even touring, could get tedious. The car is pretty lively and quite a handful so there's very little opportunity to relax, even doing 70mph on a motorway it'll tramline and snatch the wheel from your hands. It's probably an ideal track car in this respect though sadly I never got find out. Though on a related note I'm looking to replace it with a manual 360 at some point in the future; I miss the manual gear change and the 4C engine is a bit hooligan-though they coaxed a pretty decent sound from a fairly mundane lump. It's also a shame that fun stops at the point the rev range where our V8's come to life. Definitely a car I'd have in my collection if it were possible though.

Lol...it won’t effect the single guys...I had a Corvette with sidepipes that made exiting literally dangerous for getting seriously burnt legs, and it didn’t hamper my dating. We all put up with a lot before the ring is on.

But I’d agree, it’s more likely a problem for the WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor). Make sure she tries it before you buy it, so it isn’t a big problem later.

I've not had a complaint from the wife in over a year of owning my 4C. She still loves it!

Yes, the exotic car journey is a complicated path with many diversions. If I had a Ferrari, I would not take it to anyone in a 100mi radius because even if there is a very good shop in that range, they could not have much experience in Ferraris since they are so rare here - years go by without me seeing one. On the other hand, we have a good Alfa and Maserati dealership, which is under the same ownership as the Porsche dealer with whom I already have a relationship. I like the 360 more than the 4c, but over time this might flip if I have any maintenance issues. I have such a good feeling about driving my Boxster because it always works and never gives me any cause to worry. I push it hard on the track, run the miles up, and in the pouring rain or sleet, it doesn't even occur to me that I am exposing it to harsh weather. I think the 4c is modern enough that I would feel the same way about that car too. It may be unjustified but I feel I would worry more with the 360. Not to dilute the thread but my wife (and me too) really likes the Maserati Granturismo, and I could get one of those plus the 4c for the costs of running the 360 and my Boxster as a spare. We are going to look at a 4c coupe hoping that the road noise is better than the spider. After all, its not the end of the world if you get a car you wind up not liking. Just sell a year later and use the time to search some more. You just experience more cars that way.

If you’re saying Maserati Gt plus 4c vs 1, 360 then it’s indeed a no brainer heh.
