Replaced this hose with silicone material. After a while, it gets hard and brittle forever. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I meant to say should last forever since it’s a heat resistant silicone, also did the same thing for the EGR tubes that also gets hot and makes the rubber hard and brittle after a while.
Started a four wheel alignment. Got the camber at the front measured and the lower wishbones loosened off so I can start playing with shims tomorrow. Regards David
Noticed a rattling sound in passenger door while driving. Lowered window and heard rattling sound. Removed door panel and plastic barrier. I found the nut holding the window track loose. I put a lock washer on it. 534 is my production number. Put it all back together and no more rattling. Final polishing on the rear deck. Put on rear emblem and the license plate lights. Waiting for the car to get back so I can finally finish it. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Replaced the dash lights with LED lights. It is a rather time consuming process. However, the real problem is that at least one of these lights is reverse polarity. That is not an issue with incandescent lights, but with LED, it does not work. So we ended up getting a bipolar light for that bulb, but as a consequence, it appears that there is a short on the oil pressure indicator. Has anyone else had that problem? Some pictures, including before and after, appear below. Didn't have a oil pressure short problem but I did have to reverse the polarity on one light. Don't remember which one. Made a big difference on my dash, not that I drive much at night. My head lights seem so dim compared to the new cars. We sit so low to the ground it seems like every body have there bright lights on. I purchased the light that goes in the emergency brake handle from Martin in Germany. My orange light in the upper left corner of the dash doesn't work what is that for.
Yeah, I've done everything for the dash lights, but they're still almost non-usable, very poor light, and the headlights are also so dim compared to modern cars, why is that? So I don't drive at night much either, especially being a black little car!
I've had TruckLite LEDs (hated!!! them), and now have halogens. Neither is particularly great at night, though.
I have heard good things from a UK FChat-friend about the Philips Ultinon H4 headlight LED lights. I am fighting with the decision to try them because they are around € 180.00 per set and not street legal here in Germany. Driving my car at night is a PITA and when it rains it gets a major PITA. Best Martin
I put in Cibie euro lenses, high power H4 Halogens and dedicated power relays several years ago and my lights are great at night. As good as the xenon lights we had on an X5 at the time. Regards David
I think it's an angular problem; i cant see more than about 10-12' in front of the car, neither low beams nor high.
David, what means high power H4? 100/90W? I have also installed relays and could use them but I'm worrying about cracking the glass due to more heat and occasional sudden rain. Best Martin
Hi Martin I just checked my 2010 order from Daniel Stern Lighting and he advised a particular Osram 70/65w bulb that I am still using and happy with. I had suggested he send me 130/100 since I figured brighter was better but he talked me down. The higher power bulbs have shorter lifespan and poor focus he said.
I tried that on my Alfa with 30amps relalys and thick wires. It was incredibly bright, but I can confirm. what David's seller said. Lifespan of the bulbs was a matter of a few months. And some day I noticed a cracked lens after a rain drive. Best from Germany Martin
Tracked down an oil leak that was noticed a few days ago. Front cam cover is leaking on the passenger side. I had replaced the cam gaskets back in 2012.
