You have to say this. Yes, Merc has been on the top of their game but the guy knows how to win poles and win races.
50% of races won with barely any competition. As his fans say, Vettel is ****. So what was his competition? His teammates who they say is **** as well. I have far more respect for what Vettel accomplished in Red Bull. He had actual competition. The FIA did their best to neuter Red Bull whenever possible. Passed a wing flex test? Tough luck, Cans, next week we'll make it harder for you to pass it. Car designed around a exhaust blown diffuser? Tough luck, we'll take your toys away. Red Bull only had 525 people employed, Ferrari and Mclaren around 600 at the time. They didn't have the luxury of the best engine (contrary, they had the worst, but admittedly the performance gap at the time was less). Take that to Mercedes who employs a medium sized army of 1500 people (compared to Red Bulls 650, Ferrari's 1000 and Mclarens 750). Their budget is endless. They have teams working on different concepts for the car, perfecting next years car, they blow over a 100 engines on dynos in order to find the perfect engine, they have updates coming each race specifically tailored for that track. Can't get the tyres under control? Well just give their old pals at Pirelli a call...tailor made tyres to be used for the season, when everyone else has perfected design already for the tyres thought to be used...Yet their fanboys say ''other teams just have to adapt"?! If a vast force like Mercedes can't get the tyres sorted....what possible hope do the rest have? Mercedes designed their car to be harsh on tyres, that's their problem. Make an extra pitstop. But no. FIA/Pirelli give Mercedes another leg up and the rest are punished. It's absolute ********. It's farcical.
Vettel has more employees at Ferrari than RedBull, still can't win. The Mercedes was'nt always dominant, 2017,18 Ferrari won races and lead the championship first half of the season. Bottas finished 5th in WDC last year. You guys can try to keep slicing and dicing this thing, but its not gonna work, Lewis is a F1 great.
You may not like Hamilton's look, style, tattoos, Instagram, attitude, etc. but the fact is that his level of dominance and performance in the past 5+ years allied to his performance since starting F1 and in the junior formulas proves that he is not only one of the greats of his generation but also of all time. Haters will always find excuses but the score card has no room for explanations. Hamilton's sheer numbers are exceptional by any metric.
No problem, it's an amazing statistic, it would be foolish to bet against him even though many do. He's also won a race in every season he's been in F1, quite sensational
Next we can look up what % of races his team has won the last 5 years so we can see how dominant his machinery has been. I bet that figure is quite sensational as well!
If I were Ferrari CEO I would offer a contract to Hamilton TODAY. Send Vettel and his whinings to Mercedes.
Hope that never happens. Ferrari doesn't deserve Hamilton, and Mercedes don't need a loser like Vettel. But money talks ...
We live in different times. Ferrari CEO is married to one of the most famous porn stars of all time. Why would it be a problem if we have a negresco driver in the Scuderia? I'm founder and CEO of my company, albeit with a book value lower than Ferrari.
4x WDC being a "loser"??? And you really complain about others "dismissing" the achievements of a certain British multiple WDC... but at least you show your true colours for everybody to see
