Can anyone reccomend a K Jetronic expert in East Anglia. The car starts easily but after a couple of seconds starts to run roughly and the engine will not increase revs until it has warmed up a bit. Once up to temperature it will rev but still runs rough. I have changed plugs, extensions and plug leads this has not improved anything.
I have compression tested the engine and there appears to no problem with that.I really need to have someone who understands the system sort it, I 'm not getting anywhere with it.

What colour are the plugs when you pull them? Sooty black or like new? Nearly sounds like a pump problem! Have you checked fuel pressure?? Basics first!!!

I suggest checking out the flywheel ignition triggers. Both of them. First off. make certain they're bone dry. Next check for shorts. A tiny bit of water on those, and it will run terrible.

Thank you gentlemen, I have found a solution to the problem on Youtube. It would appear that ,amongst others, Volkswagen, Mercedes and Saab used the same K-jetronic system and so did Volvo and that is where the cure was found. Turns out that it is a common fault that is simple to fix and costs nothing if your are careful.
I had decided that the problem had to be something to do with the Warm Up Regulator although it all checked out both electrically and mechanically with nothing wrong.BUT the utrafine mesh filter on the inlet (larger union) was blocked. Very tricky to get this clear again without damaging it since you cannot remove it, but once the muck is out the car runs perfectly. How about that and how many people who didn't know about this have spent loads of dosh that they needn't have!
I have had this car since 1995 and it has @ 30,000 miles on it and apart from dodgy plug extensions, there have been no other problems. Not bad huh?
